  1. Is there a better way? (I am sure there is)

So I just asked the company that we were dealing with and it turns out that they dont make a roll to roll/Hybrid with Ricoh heads. I wouldve had to go to Spectra - but not enough details. Now they have a new head - the Kyocera but they are ridiculously expensive... I guess we will make the best...
  2. Is there a better way? (I am sure there is)

Yeah, it makes and I am really wondering if I made a mistake. With the rate of our production I am wondering how much time I am losing. Figure I go through about 350'-400' a day now and I wonder how much I can bump it up to. Really don't know if I can change the printer now but would make sure a...
  3. Is there a better way? (I am sure there is)

I am printing heavy magnet on a flatbed (CET500Q) as we had been told multiple times that running this heavy material was impossible on a roll fed machine plus on long runs the registration would slip and we cut digitally... The rolls are about 80lbs each so I am sure a hybrid flatbed can manage...
  4. Issue in Illustrator

Yeah, I was trying to see if it was an issue i could fix or I needed to upgrade - would rather not upgrade if I dont have to. Tx
  5. Issue in Illustrator

Thanks everyone, first of all my designer verified he only is having the issue mainly on huge files. Also, to edit - I put in 16GB not 8 (was so long ago I forgot) and the system recognizes it. As well I checked in Activity Monitor and there was only 3.6GB active, and LogMeIn was largest at 10%...

  8. Issue in Illustrator

That's what I am worried about. My designer says that mostly they are huge files but even a 50 MB file should work fine on 8GB of RAM or am I missing the boat? Is there something to try to pinpoint it? Thanks for your help dealing with a newbie like me :)
  9. Issue in Illustrator

To clarify - most of our files are from our clients and we are making them print ready, i.e. setting up the sheet adding reg marks - even those simple tasks can take a few minutes.
  10. Issue in Illustrator

I believe even smaller files - but on a large file even moving a small group of text took a couple of seconds after it was moved for it to move on screen.
  11. Issue in Illustrator

Yes, or I should say I believe so :) It came with 4 GB - upgraded and made sure the computer states it is running the 8gb.
  12. Issue in Illustrator

Not sure where to post this but if you can help - tx in advance. I bought for my designer a Mac Mini (as we were starting up I scrimped - my mistake) Having an issue that every change in Illustrator on the artwork however tiny takes forever to take effect and saving a file can take 5 minutes...
  13. Summa F Series - anybody running one?

We currently are running a CET 500Q and a Graphtec FC2250 (largest bed) the graphtec really is fast enough and it just isn't made for a production enviroment. We print sheets of magnets and each sheet is repetitive small contour cuts. Does anyone have experience with the F-Series and know if it...
