  1. Rainbow banding in drop shadows, light midtones.

It sounds like you are experiencing gradient banding, and it is particularly noticeable in highlights. Have you attempted to print a file that is 16-bits (2-bpp) deep rather than 8-bit? Onyx 10 now supports files that use 16-bit color depth, and their primary benefit is more tonal...

  3. i NEED A ROLAND DRIVER VERY BAD!!! PLZ HELP

Most large-format printers are not driven via a driver, but instead from an application called a software RIP. Roland solvent printers have historically shipped with RIPs (ColoRIP and more recently Versaworks).

  5. Graphtec FC8000-160 won't cut accurately

If all cuts are off on the X-Axis by that amount, I would first verify that the knife is positioned in the rear position of the collar (position 1), and that your Condition Parameter (also position 1) is defined consistently with that knife placement.
  6. Korographics VS Phototex

Comparing Phototex with Korographics is the proverbial apples to oranges comparison. Koro is a true wallpaper product with various (highly or lightly) textured surfaces, and Phototex is adhesive-backed fabric.
  7. Wave pattern banding

Recurring patterns like this are often times related to a dirty rotary encoder disk (not the linear encoder)/ sensor.
  8. Sp540v print issues.

The dreaded White Banding...I always found it to be more noticeable in printing solid grays, and blue and purple hues. On the original SP series, about the only option is to print at a higher pass count to mask the effect, but I was never able to eliminate it completely in those solid colors...
  9. HP L25500 smell

Under normal circumstances, any significant smell coming from the HP latex printers originates with the heating of the media, and not the ink itself, which is the source of odors on solvent ink printers. Are you getting any unusual printer behaviors (error messages), or are you running a...
  10. Versaworks color

If you use the Density Control Only setting, that may work with a grayscale raster file. I have done so with an CMYK based file.
  11. Versaworks color

There are several different ways to do this: 1. Use Roland Color System or 2. Use Special Color Setting (Edit Menu > Special Color Settings) or 3. Set your Color Management Properties list box to 'Density Control Only' in the Job Settings > Quality page. Each have their place, and there can...

What RIP software are you using to drive the Mutoh 1204?
  13. Onyx Re-calibrating Media

Are you re-linearizing an existing media, or building a new profile? The on-board i1 spectro is not a transmissive device, so I don't know how well it will work with a translucent media such as this. I have heard that the on-board device requires a lot more material than the hand-held device...

  16. Halo Effect

No it is not evident in the Preflight/ Job Editor module.
  17. Halo Effect

We are seeing a strange gray halo effect on a particular file that I can't explain, and want to run it past the board. On a pure vector file from Illustrator, with solid colors with no strokes, with only two colors, red (background) and black (foreground), we are seeing a grayish halo effect...
