unfortunately unexplained things happen with these machines from time to time. not on a regular basis but it happens. and when i say unexplained i mean it's just beyond my knowledge of the machine. glad it finally worked out.
did you do the repeat in versaworks or in the original file?
if you did the repeat in the original file check to make sure you don't have 2 cut lines overlapped. if you do it will cut twice on the same decal
don't know much about the latex printers but we have had roland print/cut machines for over 10yrs now and the solvent printers have been very reliable also easy to use.
the machine it self is pretty easy to maintain. clean it once a week and that's about it. versawork is easy to use as well and...
don't know a lot about this stuff but from what i have seen roland has a pretty simple set up for this. check with local rep or area distributor for roland.
Tyrrell tech and i think N. Glantz used to sell a kit as well.
we have a roland LEJ about 3-4 years now (maybe 4-5 have to check, my memory filled with current work load...haha)
ours has gone down a few times but not normally major stuff. we have replace a few heads (2 white,, 1 cyan and 1 magenta) the whites where under warranty and the other two were...
Heat, stretching and patience...... Lots of patience. Or if all else fails see if you can put a seem there. (not the best but may look better then wrinkles or risk of it pulling back from all the stretching)
we have three laminators and when we purchased the one they guy told us to keep it up when not in use to prevent flat spot but we have one that we bought about 5 years before that one and it is always down. never had an issue. i would say to be safe leave them open but if you forget don't lose...
i would suggest a snap frame or a slide frame holder that would be the easiest but if it has to be magnets you could make a pvc or some sort of rigid nameplate and mount these magnets to the back.
they have a pretty powerful magnet. also you can get magnetic vinyl in .060 thick that's better...
we have 4 suppliers we use and they all have something they are good at. we just have to make sure we order from them accordingly and with all of them over the years i have heard different people who have had bad experiences with all of them but for us as long as we use them for what they are...
don't ask questions just take the praise. normally that email or phone call is to complain about something.
every once in a while we will get a letter or an email or a phone call thanking us for a good job which does feel good but i feel better just receiving the payment..haha
the only way you can do it is the way they are presently doing it and it's going to cost because there is a lot involved.
we make overlays like that and it's a big process. you have to silk screen it (this is the only process you could save on because you could flatbed uv them) then you have to...
that must have been the same company i worked with and i got " well, i do this all the time with no issues. i don't understand why you can't handle this"
they actually tried telling my customer they should go somewhere else. hey if i don't have the font it's not that hard to create...
catzper can be a pain with certain colors (red/burgandys and grays are the worst) that's not because of the program but because of the cymk printing.
one thing i have done is do my first round and pick the closest color on that sheet then run catzper again using the new close color and...
