  1. Questions about printing backlit sign

We print to white translucent, laminate and apply to clear substrate. It's easy and works great.
  2. Gemini letters installed this week

I was thinkin' the same thing Marlene, that really helps the over all picture. Gemini can't be beat. We installed a job with their formed plastic last week... I'll try to post pics soon.
  3. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

Wow. It amazes me that some people can be such apparent arrogant asses, and apparently not even realize they're doing it.
  4. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

Climb down off your high horse for a minute. I'm not about to waste a minute of my day googling somebody's S101 screen name. It's no surprise that you and Lowen are on the same team here, the attitude seems to match perfectly. How can you possibly blame "the ones that are bitching about it" for...
  5. Large Boat Wrap Help and Ideas

Oracal 970 RA would work for that. I'm not sure if you're going to "hide" or emphasize the imperfections in the paint though. Another thing to think about is this... if the paint job was applied poorly, it was most likely prepared poorly too. That means when you remove the vinyl, you're probably...
  6. Ford Transit Wrap

You're subjecting yourself to wraps now? Ugh! But you're so good at the dimensional stuff... Looks good Bob! It's been a while... give me a call if you're going to be in the area. Thad
  7. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

If you think 3M or any other manufacturer is a "partner" to you, you are sadly naive. We explain the materials to customers every day. None of them give a damn about the brand of the product. They care about the design, print quality, seamless installation, durability and price. If their primary...
  8. Satellite Truck

This is a Satellite dish truck that we wrapped to match the Escape that we did last week for a local CBS affiliate. It's printed by our Mutoh 1614 on OraJet 3551RA and laminated with OraGuard 290G.
  9. Escape Wrap

Hollidaysburg (Altoona) It wasn't too bad, actually. they're not as big as they look.
  10. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

First post, cut and paste... now that's something to believe in.
  11. is printing lime greens: possible??!! frustrated!!

You want green? Print out some gray and laminate it.
  12. Escape Wrap

The customer supplied the background and we tweaked it. They also supplied the logos, so we pretty much just put it all together on a template. Solvex, I've found that it installs the best.
  13. Mercantile Tax ?

We're all human. If there's a sign maker among us who denies ever having sent out a misspelled word or name, he's a liar.
  14. Escape Wrap

We wrapped this Escape last week for the local CBS affiliate. This week we're doing their satellite truck. I guess you could say that we did the design in house, but they supplied all of the elements and we just put them together on the template. The background is a still shot of an animation...
  15. Enclosed trailer wrap?

This is a project that we have coming up next month. It's for a custom car shop owned by a friend of mine who is working on my 65 Riviera GS. No screws or rivets on this one, just one row of those big ass plugs.
  16. Enclosed trailer wrap?

We've done them both ways. The install is definitely easier with the screws out and you can use a lesser material. If the trailer is not brand new, you WILL have problems getting the screws out. I also think that a million silver dots interrupts most designs pretty badly. Having done it both...
  17. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

I highly doubt that 500:1 is a realistic ratio. Even stretching it to 5:1 doesn't justify whoring yourself out @ $2. Profit from wrapping a van @ $2 / sq ft... $300. Self respect... priceless. Certification, turning the printers of today into the plotters of yesterday!
  18. What wrap vinyl do you prefer?

If you are inexperienced or speed is your priority, 3M is the way to go. Oracal is much more difficult to install but it stays where you put it much better.
  19. Look Out Sign Shops

I don't see it putting many of us out of business.
