The logo design book that I refer to regularly is Leslie Cabarga's, "Logo, Font, and Lettering Bible."

When you order it direct from Leslie he'll send you back a signed copy. If you call the number on the contact page Leslie actually answers the phone. Imagine...
Give it a chance. Once you know your way around CorelDraw you will soon realize that you can be a lot more productive than you can with AI.
That'll put more loot in your pocket as well.
The first frustration you'll want to get your head around is CorelDraw X5's color management. Download and...
I think you missed the point of that pool game. It was the skills of your opponent that obviously outshone a classy tool in the hand of an amateur.
Your reverence was misplaced!
Myself, "I refuse to use crappy tools!"
That you should be so misguided to believe that it's the software and not the designer that produces "good" is telling!
If you want professional design using an ICC compliant workflow then CorelDraw X5 is what you need. Something that should be hugely important to a professional! If that's not...
No so sure I understand why you would use EPS files for web use.
Go here: http://coreldraw.com/wikis/howto/designer-s-guide-to-color-management.aspx and download the Designer's Guide to Color Management. Read it over a couple of times if you have to but unless you get a grip on it now it will...
If you're printing to an inkjet printer - wide format or otherwise - DON'T convert your colors to CMYK. CMYK is not a "standard" and is proprietary to the printer being used. Inkjet printers require RGB input even if they're using CMYK inks.
Work in RGB and let your RIP handle the conversion -...
Another book I would highly recommend is Leslie Cabarga's "Logo, Font, and Lettering Bible". If you phone the 1-800 number he's the guy that answers the phone and he'll sign your book before he sends it off. He come's from a signmaking background as his dad was a signmaker for the Army or...
Take your printer off of "REMOTE" so that it reads "LOCAL" - feed the paper out a bit then poke the "FUNCTION" button. It'll say something like "MEDIA CUT" then just poke the "ENTER" button. Catch it before it hits the floor.
I suppose there's a way of having the RIP do the cut after the job...
That's pretty much how I'ld do it but I'ld need some kind of high performance additive in my coffee to be able to do it that fast!
Just out of curiosity, how much time (60 seconds = 1 minute) do you have into this so far and how much more do you estimate before you have it done?
Download the PDF from here:
http://coreldraw.com/wikis/howto/designer-s-guide-to-color-management.aspx
as it's a good primer for color management.
Although the PDF is intended as a primer for X5 the principles are the same. For the most part use RGB in your document and let the RIP/driver...
When using Lexan make sure you read what it says on the protective covering. One side is treated for UV and that is the side you want out. With the wrong side facing the sun it will go yellow fast!
