  1. Fading to trucks origional color

It appears to be printed on clear (as stated above) or printed and then laminated (here's the description): Give your vehicle a custom airbrushed paint job at a fraction of the cost with our new Camaro Side Graphic Sport Fade graphic! The graphic has been digitally printed and laminated on...
  2. Advice sought on day/night lightbox

I don't think there's anything unusual with the request. If the sign is adjacent to a road, it makes sense he wants it for advertising during the day and to let everyone know they are open at night. I think it is rather clever.
  3. Mutoh VJ1204 cabinet color?

I'm no Mutoh expert, but I went and looked at another Mutoh 1204 today and it has a black cabinet. All others I've seen have a light grey cabinet. Does anyone know what the difference in cabinet color means?
  4. Trying to print and cut with FlexiSTARTER

You can't file a claim with Ebay? They don't say what version but still....
  5. 1204-Refurbed-Can't lay down a nozzle check!

I can't offer much help but I can offer a thank you for the information. I have everything you have referenced - a 1204 (plus a 1304), new dampers, head out of an Epson water based, decoder, new maintenance station, etc. I can't wait to find the time to get working on them and try to get them...
  6. Mutoh vj 1204

Do share how to reset the carts through the firmware. Ive just performed a search on and off this forum and I can't find anything that shows how to permanently reset the carts..
  7. Mutoh vj 1204

I've personally never heard of decoding a Valuejet, can you explain how this works?
  8. What would you do

After two revisions it does seem odd that you would then ask for a deposit. I mean, if they were small changes than a third revisions might have been satisfactory? Did you sense that you were never going to come to a 'meeting of the minds' with the client or did you just decide that you have...
  9. Graduation Banners

There is no doubt that the photographer owns the print. Here's from LegalZoom: There is often confusion about who owns the photographs of a professional hired to photograph an event, such as a wedding. Prior to 1978 many courts ruled that a hired "author" of a photograph was an employee and...

  11. Geekwraps service.

I used to ship to Australia all the time. In the past, there was no way to track the package once it left the states. However, that has changed and the package can now be tracked all the way to your door. I have also had packages that I was sure had been lost in the mail but they eventually show up.
  12. Any worth to a Mutoh VJ 1204A that's been unplugged

Sorry, I meant DX5 head not DX4. This is a great point. Only problem is, if the printer is new it will only print the original 13" wide. This can be overcome with an unlocking card.
  13. Any worth to a Mutoh VJ 1204A that's been unplugged

Who's paying $3,000 for a printhead?? A DX4 head can be had for $900. I though the OP was asking how much in its current condition, not repaired.
  14. Doing business with the state of NJ

You know as much about me as I know about you, nothing. You don't know how long I've been in the business, what experience I have, or anything else. Much like the statement about insurance fraud, you make a lot of generalizations but don't know any specifics. The way I read the OP's initial...
  15. Doing business with the state of NJ

With all due respect, maybe you should go back and read the thread. The third comment suggested he should just to turn the work over to a full time shop. So when you say, "So, you, he and some others instantly junp on others who knows and is trying to correct his wrong thinking." I think you...
  16. Doing business with the state of NJ

Bitter much? I agree with CrAkD. It never ceases to amaze me that some think unless you run a full time shop you're working "illegally" out of your home and you don't/can't have the "experience" to do any jobs in a professional manner. Just an FYI, in most jurisdictions you can run a part time...
  17. Any worth to a Mutoh VJ 1204A that's been unplugged

$1,000 to $1,250 assuming it powers on and throws no errors.
  18. Want opinions on banner design

You're not serious? I don't know if the OP was making a joke with this thread or if he truly would think a Malaysian company would order - and pay with real funds - for banners to be printed in the US. Either way, to answer your question, it is the same reason all of the large companies offshore...
  19. Want opinions on banner design

I wonder why Malaysians would order banners from the US? I mean, they can obviously get the banners designed and printed cheaper in their home country.
  20. Laminator Out of Whack

Mine did the exact same thing. My customer service experience wasn't as great as yours as it took therm forever to respond and they said $1,500 or some nonsense for a new roller (it's been a few months ago). I haven't tried too hard, but never could get it back to working with wider material.
