    have to say no issues with our XR (yet?) the only dissapoiuntment i found was the metallic in will rub off. need to laminate everything with metallic ink. some materials hold up better then others but not what we expected. the funny thing is we always test the materials and the ink durability...

    when you use the vinyl coated brushed you can have issues. try to get the polyester/mylar brushed. we have used both most of the time they were fine but when we did have issues it was with the vinyl coated (like r-tape and the only problem we did have was a couple of times some pieces...

    yes just tape down the across the top and then roll from the bottom up. start removing the release liner and just squeegee down, unroll as you go. i do it with 30" x 72" prints on vending/soda machines

    we have been using roland printer/cutters for the last 10 or so years and no major problems. easy to use and and the quality is good. i would see what printers are available from close vendors and start your search there. this way you know you have tech support that isn't far away.

    we have the same problem with our gerber plotter. it's 13 yrs old and owes me nothing so i just use it for the re-run jobs that it can still cut correctly. as for your question, i would think as long as you can import/incorporate the register marks your summa needs to cut a job in to your gerber...
