With experience, you'll find yourself spending more time removing them. Also, unless having a grid of silver dots is included in your design, it will look better when they're covered.
I've also seen rust streaks running down wrapped trailers when they were removed & replaced.
I agree. It's pricey but find that it scratches less than velcro, the blue Avery, the Squeezee, & 3M felt sleeves.
The teflon is nice for tight spots & the felt goes past the edge.
It's all we're using now. :thumb:
Looks like the pictured one doesn't have a tension limiting bar like the Roland brand unit. I'd ask to see a demo in person. I'm sure there's a reason for the bar. I think it limits the pull against the machine & the media.
I couldn't live without my takeup reel. Even $1k is cheap for the...
Having personal experience with an upgrade from a SP540V Versacamm to a Soljet SC545EX last year; I would say without a doubt that all our prints have improved dramatically when it comes to print quality across the board. Black is no longe charcoal looking & our Roland spot color chart has a...
We are getting bizarre output from our Illustrator vector files (exported as EPS.) Seems to be block shaped gradients behind our drop shadows. Anyone have file output guidelines to avoid this?
Another item to add to all the above is the take up reel which comes standard with the 545EX.
After upgrading from a Versacamm, the 545EX color gamut smokes the 4 color machine.
We also simply can't live without a takeup reel. It is a giant help & costs around $2k to add to a VP.
There is no real short answer to your friend's "brand inquiry."
There are a ton of options available from many manufacturers (tool changing, boring blocks, gantry clearances.)
The GOOD software is apples & oranges when compared to sign machining programs.
It sounds like your friend may...
We do mostly digital work (wraps & banners,) & use primarily Photoshop & illustrator for everything. RIP is done through Versaworks on our XC540.
Anyone find an advantage in using Flexi Pro in the process? I'm considering buying the software & am hoping for some input. We also have an old...
I'd assume the stability (chatter) issue exists only when cutting hardwoods & thick aluminum. If you're cutting alot of HDU & plastics, I wouldn't be concerned about loss of edge finish quality with the taller gantry. There's plenty of 5 axis machines out there cutting just fine with over 48" of...
I vote to pay.
Do a search for other industrial "insider" sites & you'll likely not find one that regularly "spills the beans" like this site. No offense Fred, we all learn alot & applaud your efforts, but also don't want our customers learning about published wholesale rates, etc.
How...
Anyone know of a good supplier for color-core type polyethene materials in the Northeast? It appears that Vycomm's polycarve material is no longer available.
We have a Master, which I believe is the same machine. We recently had a similar issue. Our fix was to take the side cover off & shim up the top roller mount with wood. I also purchased a more expensive laminator just to avoid the bs associated with the cheap one, which was ok for low volume...
What resolution do you XC540 owners print your wraps at? I'm considering upgrading from my Versacamm, but at 720x720dpi, it yeilds only a 30% increase in speed. According to the specs, it only prints rapidly at the lower resolutions.
A good low cost substitute for Autocad is Turbocad. Much cheaper & I use it all the time for my router.
If you run into architectural drawings, its great to have real CAD for communication & dealing with files & layers.
