I've had this same problem on a large scale. 3M says not to apply transfer paper to their gloss lams as it removes gloss (see screenshot attached). I'm unsure if this is part of the "removes gloss" problem but I've experienced the same thing that happened to you. Sucks.
Ironically I just discovered 3 rolls of my own. All three have curvy floss (see pics). It doesn't seem like that would have happened due to age but maybe? EDIT: I guess it makes sense. The carrier tape would shrink over time but the filament would not. Duh. Still sucks.
Just updated the price! Asking $5,900 obo for the full package. My new printer is now in operation and I need to move these out as space is limited. I'm leaving the ink set up so I can demo the printer to perspective buyers. Call or text: (989) 709-7006.
Selling a full print package - Mutoh 1624 64" Printer, RIP Computer with Flexisign 10, & Enduralam 64" Laminator, Start your print business or add another printer.
This Mutoh 1624 large format printer is in fantastic condition and prints flawlessly with no clogged heads. One of the most...
Just spoke to Fellers regarding Seal Laminators. I was surprised they do not offer a cutter option for their laminators. Here's a video showing the cutter in action (skip to the 60 second mark). http://gdtjkj.com/en/About.Asp?ID=12
Okay, I probably wouldn't order one of these machines as it scares the begeebies out of me to think of not having parts or service readily available BUT check out some of the features for the cost.
I especially like the cutting feature (scroll down to see them). I don't think I've seen...
Ugh I'm an idiot...
That moment when you have an error on your printer and search the web to find the answer. After finding the answer you realize you found the answer from a post your started 4 years ago (where you found the fix the first time). Seriously! lol
Your thoughts? I just saw a flier from Grimco for this product.
We produce bus advertising so I'm particulary interested in how easily it removes.
Thanks.
Thanks Gino, Don't get yer pantys in a bunch...This sign is for an airplane hanger. Nothing fancy. Just looking for an inexpensive way to make the edge of panel look a little cleaner. And I found it.
Anybody ever fill the edges of an Alumalite corogated sheet with bondo then sand flush and paint?
Anybody ever epoxy edge cap moldings onto the sides of Alumalite?
I'm looking for alternative edge treatments for an Alumalite wall mount sign (no frame). I've had problems with the 3/8' edge...
Thanks. I think this was the problem! Strange it happened exactly the same time I ran out of material and had the jam. But the locking mechanism was tilted. I straightened it and it seems fine.
Problem solved. For me this turned out to be a heat issue NOT an alignment issue. I had to set the infeed and platen heaters lower than I did with my old VJ 1204.
New settings: Preheater 37, Platen Heater 44, Post Heater 50
My theory why this works: The pressure rollers on the 1624 have...
Well after years of being so carefull with my printers... I accidentally let the material run out on the roll and jammed my 1624.
Instantly it errored out. I pulled the plug, pushed the on button to clear the machine and attempted to restart the machine.
I'm not able to consistantly...
