Mystery solved. switched out cartridges got to the 6th one (the second black ) and back to normal. Factory chip was saying it was 3rd party. Well if third party inks will piss away a cartridge a week for no reason and slow down the print process, who would ever invest in them?

No. Have only used Roland inks from day one. Was just asked the same question by my Roland service rep. We are replacing cartridges one at a time to see if we have a bad chip on one of them.

I have went through every item in settings, menus and sub menus and see nothing for clean during print.
