Anyone using caldera on linux, Ubuntu or Mate ?
How are you using windows based software (if you have windows based software)
I.e Adobe software, or ICC profiling software etc.
This to me has always been a neat idea. And as there has been some topics on it lately, i'd love to compile a list of useful software one could use to run a small Print / Design shop.
Email Client:
-Thunderbird - has come a long way
Word processing:
- LibreOffice
Design software:

Over the holidays, we've moved to a larger place (1000 SQM) and now tools are grouped and spread out in sections / stations.
We currently use the RIP Pc with Onyx x22 with cut server to run the Graphtec.
What are people doing when running 1 or more Graphtec's away from the RIP PC?

We got to be the first in the worlds to see the new Coloado M series in action (apart from the guys at canon). Really neat show they put on.
Looks like it's the replacement of the 1630 1640 & 1650.
Called the:
M3 (1630)
M3W
M5 (1650)
M5W
4 heads. 5 heads with white.
The new single heads are...
Im looking for software that can calculate your prints.
Something that i can enter a list of stock, paper, vinyls, corrugated plastic, banners etc in it
list Printers specs
then tell it your print size and quantity and it'll tell you what it costs.
I don't care to much about other features...
Im having this issue which is really frustrating.
Im using a Graphtec FC9000 & Onyx X22 cut server
It's set up to cut Segment Area Correction every 0.5m
The page is set to the max 5000cm (5m)
The problem:
It'll cut about 15-16 meters of vinyl, read the next mark, then take it straight home...
Hi all,
What printable vinyl would you use for snowboard wraps?
A client of ours used Avery MPI 2000 for their snowboard, while it had good adhesion they mentioned that the vinyl lost adhesion in the snow and started to peal.
So i'm wondering what would be a good vinyl for this job?
Onyx X22 has been announced.
Quite a bit of an update it seems.
It seems to be more about automation with this update.
Im excited for smart job submissions, allowing onyx to get details from file name.
& hopefully improved fotoba marks from x21.1

This has been the hot topic for the last year.
So i want to create 1 thread where people can ask and others (including myself) will do the best to answer. this will save 100 new threads being created and people trying to search can find multiple answers in 1 place.

This has been at the back of my mind for a while.
And since it was brought up recently, i'd like to open it as a discussion & A Poll.
When using a Trade printer, We understand you want the simplest, easiest solution to place orders.

From my time being around this forum, There's a lot of questions asked, some more than others.
in saying that, What is 1 topic you'd like to learn or learn more about in the print industry?
Pricing?
Colour managing?
Printing & matching spot colours?
Client / Job management?
What else??
Anyone here use electric paper cutters / Guillotines?
To cut stacks of paper or stickers etc?
Looking at options for something up to 500mm wide.
Either get a cheap old second hand one. or possibly a chinese one from alibaba,
i need something to get by for now.
This is just a bit of fun…
If money was no object,
What single printer would you buy for your shop and why did you pick it?
Rules:
- It needs to be able to run you’re shop for the next 5 years
- your old/current printers cannot continue to operate.
This is something that has been on my mind for a while.
What solutions are out there?
Are the any that work well with wideformat?
Are there any that don't provide a front end like OnPrintShop?
Are there any that work with wordpress? or Woocommerce?

From the Windows 11 thread, there was a few talking about windows 10 and the annoying updates.
Although some of you already know how it all works, and reasons to and reasons not to allow windows 10 to upgrade.
For those who think windows is just forcing updates on users jus because they're...
