That is a good point. It's easy to get caught up in colour gamut, number of colours, number of heads, printer speeds, etc.

Lot's of chatter regarding who makes the best flatbed printers and who offers the best service, support, durability, etc. But not much about which printer offers the best ink and why. I'm curious if there are any really differences from brand to brand in the ink options they offer.

There are certainly a lot of POD providers available. It's best to really research and make sure that they are providing the product and service that reflects your needs and your market. An non-coated canvas print on cheap stock and then glued to cardboard (think cereal box) is still considered...

I've never found the 'preview' options in PM to be of any use. Am I missing something?

I would think the best tidbit of advice from this post and many previous posts is to not try to be all things to all people. The forum is successful because it brings like minded people together that share and collaborate on projects both here and in the field.

Thanks for the feedback. My initial thoughts was that it may not be suitable use of this equipment. So for this job, if it happens, we'll suck it up and trim with a rotary cutter. If it becomes a repeat than we can consider other options (printers and/or cutters) at that time.

I am looking at a number of options for a project and one option is to print a bunch of posters on the HP 365 and then have to cut them to size. I am not averse to work but if the Summa can cut these out for me that would be great. Or am I creating more grief than saving time?

We 're printing a bunch of stuff on our HP 365 and even though I know we are using the LM the noted volume of ink remaining in the cartridge has not changed. Looking at past usage for this project it will have used up at least 15ml this morning but the accounting panel and the touch screen both...

It is obvious from the posts that he had a tremendous and lasting impact on so many. My condolences to all of you, his family and friends.

I have printed who knows how many full rolls and I have only seen this a few times during the past week. As suggested there is definitely a lag or disconnect between the RIP and the printer. Could it be the computer is not powerful enough to keep up? Do we need to clear out a cache?

Here's a pic and a few things stand out. First is that the media is 42" wide, not 64" as shown. Second, the print shows as being 101 inches, which I think is close to the actual length of the job yet the time for printing is just under two hours. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I ran a few jobs using up a few 150' rolls of media. When I switched materials and ran a small 30" canvas the printer caught me off guard and was about to "print" another 80' of nothingingness. I checked the original file, the Flexi page, the PM and everything I thought of to see if I had added...

Letchworth State Park - Good call. Buttermilk Falls State Park at the south end of Cayuga Lake is another cool spot. A great hike and right now the colours would be amazing.
