  1. How do I attach a large wooden sign to building?

IM just gonna wing it. Things usually work themselves out. Thanks for the advice. I mean I did know what I shooould do. I mean of course getting a better idea of what I was installing it to and or hiring someone else to do It we’re the first things that crossed my mind. I was hoping for...
  2. How do I attach a large wooden sign to building?

So I’m a sign painter, not really much of a sign “maker”. I usually paint the signs directly on a wall, but sometimes that can’t work out and the client doesn’t wanna spend the amount that it would cost to have a proper sign made so I end up painting something on a piece of plywood. Which is...
  3. Vector Art

You can just recreate it on illustrator in like 2 minutes. Just image trace, expand and ungroup and blam
  4. Paint mask stencil vinyl and latex paint sheen recommendation

I always go with Montana 94 spray paint when doing my stencil work. Good adhesion, good coverage, dries fast, these cans (94’s) are low, pressure matte. As well as good quality paint. They don’t smell like regular spray paint either but they do smell for a few days like any other spraypaint...
  5. Hand painted signage pricing question

I do hand painted lettering pretty much. So I only paint signs directly on the buildings/walls/windows or whatever
  6. Hand painted signage pricing question

Think I agree with you on this one. There’s just too many variables, each job is so different. I just put a little area (in the pricing section) where they can answer a few questions, such as siZe, font, any outlines, shading or drop shadows, placement and such. Figured it was my best bet
  7. Plotter printer for wall murals?

For wall murals? Like as a pattern? Or like print out and stick up? I’m confused
  8. Scissor lift on slope

all that for this silly lookin thing. Just to make clear this was not my design/layout in any way shape or form. I just did exactly what the client requested. My idea looked good.
  9. Hand painted signage pricing question

Ok so i do hand painted signage on the side of my mural painting which is the majority of my business. Been doing it for a while but never got a solid pricing structure for the signage. Since it always varies so much job to job. I’m just curious to know if anyone has a solid pricing structure...
  10. Scissor lift on slope

You all thought I was dead huh?! Thanks for all the feedback I do appreciate it. I meant to reply but too busy on this job. So I used the sheets of plywood to level it out and was good for the most part it wasn’t much of a slope for reals. Buuut I didn’t wanna risk it doing the top part so I...
  11. Scissor lift on slope

So I’ve gotta paint a sign about 25 feet up a wall thats in a driveway. They got me a scissor lift but it’s on a slight incline. I was thinking of throwing down a couple pieces of plywood or some of those ramps they have for cars. Any suggestions? Couldn’t need more then maybe 5 inches or...
  12. Graphtec fc-9000 140 help!!!

Yeah it was a roll, the paper kept getting kinked up and jamming. Once I slowed it down it worked better. I didn’t expect it to be pulling the paper back and forth so much I kinda just expected for it to work thru a project like a printer and just work it’s way down from one end to another not...

  14. Graphtec fc-9000 140 help!!!

After about 5 hours and burning thru about 300 feet of paper I was finally able to get it! It was the speed that made the biggest difference. I had it set too fast, once I slowed it down it didn’t have much problem at all staying straight. Yeah with the pinch rollers on the sides down with more...
  15. Graphtec fc-9000 140 help!!!

Ok so I’m a sign and mural painter, been in the game for like 6 years now but always had my patterns provided for me or I outsourced for them. Until now. I was finally able to get myself a plotter and went all out and got a good one, but there’s so much to this thing and I’m brand new to it. No...
