Running into an issue that my Mimaki ink supplier is stocking less than they used to and telling us that if Mimaki ships direct they charge a $150 processing fee for orders under $2,600. Is anyone else experiencing this? Can you suggest a better supplier?
We're contour cutting letters on our UCJV300-160 after printing. The lines making up sharp corners of letters and other shapes are not connecting, and the overall cutting quality is less than I hoped for. Any suggestions to get better performance?
We are using Rasterlink 7. For large/long wall graphics, what kind of a proof do you give to your customers? One big image? Is there a way to get the proof from Rasterlink, or do you crop to size elsewhere (photoshop, Corel, AI?)?
Thanks! That did it. One additional thing once I did that, if I reopen the file with a narrower media loaded, it forces me to change the tile width or it won't let me close the file. I see that I can lock the file when I first set it up to protect against that, but is there a way to close a file...
I'm new to Rasterlink 7 as relates to tiling. I can tile a job if the loaded media is wide enough, say splitting a 100" wide image into two tiles when 60" media is in the machine. However, if there is narrower media in the machine, I can't work on that image unless I use more tiles. How can I...
Poly is good for volume jobs, but there is a substantial learning curve. However, the result is extremely durable, so it has a strong place in the market. The guys at Nova are good. They could give you an overview of the total workflow.
We are having an issue with 48" vinyl on our Summa. When it feeds the media it moves too fast and kinks it. We can control cutting speed, but don't know how to reduce feed speed. This issue is increased because the plotter sometimes jumps around from one element to another on the sheet, rather...
We have a 30" x 50 yard unpunched roll of 7125 Nimbus Gray. It is out of the package but unused, except for a small piece cut out as a color sample. Anyone interested?
Most is indoor, but I'll check to see if recent decals were on exterior doors. It's cold here. What's your take on the transfer tape? Some of this is contour cut letters so really can't work well without it. The installer really prefers wet apply. Are there better vinyls for that than the 40C...
We are using 40C-114R for reverse decal and my installer is trying to wet apply. It is coming off as he is working on it, vs IJ180CV3-10 or 7125 which are OK. Are we using the wrong material or the wrong technique?
Other than Krylon I am not familiar with those paints. Are they regular solvent based? Enamel? Etc.? We use solvent based Grip-Gard VPS adhesion promoter followed by Akzo Grip Gard.
