180c vs 1080?

From what I am led to believe is that 1080 vinyl has a built in laminate.....why? I was under the impression that 3m 2ml vinyls were good for 8 years outdoors...so just what is the laminate for on a solid colour?

mainly, thickness to keep the installers happy.

Pretty much. Adds the strength and thickness needed to wrap large areas with. While possible with bare 2 mil cast vinyl, it would be a nightmare install.

so in no way dopes it add to the lifespan of the colour?
