Question 50 50's how would you make them?

I have a customer wanting me to quote a quantity of 50 die cut numbers.
They want the number "50" hooked together so they are one piece.
It is their 50th anniversary so they will be shiny gold. The will paint them if
necessary...maybe even use some glitter.
These are for a "one day" event, so it doesn't matter what they are made of
as long as they last a day..lol.

They will be hanging on the back of each chair for one day and probably tossed.
Could be cardboard or thin plastic, etc...something a little rigid.
Total size, in the neighborhood of 12" x 12"

They usually want quality stuff and don't mind paying the price, but this time
they want as cheap as possible.
Any ideas on how to produce these?

You could use some .020 styrene. Stack together and cut out with jigsaw, scrollsaw or bandsaw.

Do 16 or 18pt cardstock, we make part masks and etc on this all the time.

I don't know what equipment you have, but if it was me I'd be subbing it out to someone with a flatbed router and doing it on something like polystyrene. Have them printed gold and then they can add glitter.

Laser cut cardboard, then spray paint with a glittery gold metallic.

Pick you vinyl metallic, chrome or other gold color

Apply to styrene, pvc or your choice of material

Take to some with a CNC router and presto. 50s you have!

You do have a relationship with some with a cnc router right!?

Thank you for the ideas.
I have a roland versacamm and a vinyl cutter, no access to a router or laser.
Will look through the my list of wholesalers to see if any have the ability to do this.

I'd buy these (or something similar) and then sell them to the customer at a markup. More hassle than it's worth for something that the customer could buy online if they spent 30 seconds on Google. That's just me though.

Styrofoam and a hot wire cutter?

Thin styrene coated with gold metallic vinyl. Small sheets cut down to easily run through your plotter. Crank up the pressure and score the sheet as good as you can. Snap out the 50's and smooth edges where necessary. Put new blade in plotter.

Cut some poster board on your plotter. Or if it's for one day... Just perf cut some gold vinyl.

Buy some string, and string it together.

It won't be the most sturdy, but it'll probably be the Cheapest, and last for a day.
