AI Logos - what now?

DarkerKat

design & such
Update:
Upscale in Topaz.
Image Trace > High Fidelity Photo in Illustrator.
Dang that doesn't look that bad.

We're still arguing back and forth with the client. They live traced the original tiny jpg and the results are what you would expect... but they "provided a vector file" so why are we still complaining?
I just don't like making bad signs..

Why do AI logos look so cartoonish and animated, like a RatFink drawing, or is it just me?
Because there was a wide industry trend that uses cartoony stuff. Even if you look at stock sites there seems to be a lot of drawn assets that fit this mold and it seems like they are the most frequent used to train these LLMs. Its probable that if you were hone in the prompt to specify a design style and be minimal at the same time that it would generate something less involved. But its going to take that prompting in order to do it.
My thing is like, there are so many assets available to speed up production on logo design that the AI stuff is just lazy. But if you gotta redraw it, it is what it is.

You can simply just draw the outline with some precision and use that for your sign cabinet. The graphic itself if they are being annoying is on them. Topaz will give you plenty of resolution to make it work for you on print. If they need repro work, just charge em for it. It is what it is.
