Any tips for reaching hard places like over-the-cab?

i use a plank between two ladders. I have little giants, but homedepot carries a less expensive gorilla-brand

This is exactly how we used to do it. If you set the ladder sides that are against the vehicle at 90º, you can get a little closer and your plank can be a little bit shorter. Without this scaffold set-up, I would take off my shoes and plant my feet spaced apart on the back edge of the hood. Heels on the hood and toes on the plastic wiper cowl. It kind of kills your back after a while though.

I have a skid loader with a fork attachment. I put an empty pallet on it and raise it to the right height then drive the vehicle up to it. Then I climb up there on a ladder. Before that I would put a blanket on the hood, take my shoes off and try to stand in the area between the hood and the windshield. What a nightmare.
at certain clients i keep my own pallet stashed with 3/4" plywood screwed to it & 2x4 screwed in place at the edges. (keeps me from
stepping off)

I haven't weighed 125lbs, since 6th grade. Anyway I just back my bucket up to the windshield and go at it. Gotta work smarter, not harder
