Nice job on the van Old Paint. All these young guys who complain will be copying your style in a couple of years and calling it "Retro".

Well, he's using calendared vinyl on a vehicle. So, at that rate he will be copying his own work over again in a couple of years!

Just kidding, OP.

Shineright might last 6 months before it starts shrinking.

Other then that, he didn't do a crooked install. He just decided to install it level instead of follow the body lines.

We've been using ShineRite for many many years and we haven't had any failures. If you put black or another dark color on a dark vehicle, it might start shrinking in 5 or 6 years, but really... we're getting well into 6 and 7 years on trucks and signs. Again, we're not using it very much anymore due to digital printing, but it's some really good stuff.

i find it hilarious..... your in colorado, and i am in florida(its a lot hotter here)..and your tellin me how much shrinkage shine rite does???? YOU ARE WAY WRONG!!!!!
i have been using shine rite since it was offered and i was using its ORIGINAL NAME BRAND (which was GMI CALENDERED VINYL) and i have jobs with GMI on it still out there. the guy i did this truck for...........has a dead truck at their shop which i lettered in 1998, YES 1998!!!!!
IT WAS LETTERED WITH GMI CALENDERED ....... he told me, that truck, the lettering is still good....... but some cracks it it))))))))))))))))
in my experience(since 1992 with vinyl) the only CRAP VINYL I EVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH WAS AVERY!!!!!!!!
BUT..you are right on how i laid the vinyl.........I DIDNT FOLLOW THE BELT LINE...as it is wider near the front door and runs up hill to the back of the van. also the roof line does the same thing.
if you measure the hight on the upper panel on these ford vans, near the front door it is 24", at the back of the van it is 22".
its better to "eyeball" to level then follow truck beltline.

Ditto! ShineRite has out performed any other intermediate I have used. I think OP made the right choice. I have been using it since Frank Feller first started selling it. I believe it is a General Formulation product....who ever makes it ....it works. He sent me a couple sample rolls, one being white that I printed on with a Colorcam PC 600 and my Mutoh Falcon.

GMI vinyl, had been the name it was sold as for a long time. back when SPAR-CAL was good stuff. GMI, called their calendered by CV-300 brand lable. all of their HP VINYL was 3M 7125, reboxed with GMI LABLES.

i have add this is not MY DESIGN, but how BRYANT WANTS THEIR DEALERS VEHICLES TO LOOK LIKE NATION WIDE.

What ever it takes on the drivers side doesn't line up either. It was put on in two pieces.

Ouch....... !!

I think he caught you OP, but honestly, the back doors look the same. Looks like your software skipped a beat like your heart did. Gotta check out that skittering around on your plotter. :rock-n-roll: Glitch in the software perhaps........
