banksy is a women

banksy is most likely a group of women (possibly three to five, art company ala jeff koons) that act as one single character.

if you study the work (which i hate) and look at the videos you can see that it is a woman under the baggy sweats and hoody.

Really..... ??

Those shots don't look totally convincing it's of the female gender, not at all. While not appearing super macho, I've seen plenty of male features that could go either way. In fact, females, too.

there are countless articles discussing the details of what i scratched out in a sentence or two.

banksy may be a man, but it is more likely than not, that banksy is a group of women. and it would be just the perfect performance piece in the end that this famous "artist" ended up to be a created personality.

as for the work, they are nothing more than political cartoons.

if you were a woman, and wanted to pretend to be a man. facial hair (fake) would be one of the first things to consider.

it's most likely a woman. i don't think anyone should care much either way. why? because that is the goal of "cult of personality" crap that the art world insists on, is all about "buzz talk".

I would love to spend a day with Banksy. I've always fantasized about doing graffiti, but I don't live in a repressed place so I don't have any desire to deface people's property. haha

How can you not like "his" work artbot?! It's powerful stuff! I especially like the pieces he did on the west bank wall in Israel. Those are not merely political cartoons that's for sure.

as for the "art", banksy is not an artist. an artist develops his or her own look over time seeking to avoid redundancy in the art world. banksy's style was simple lifted directly from a lesser known earlier graffiti artist named bleck le rat.

google: blek le rat
https://www.google.com/search?q=ble...SqyAS91oHwDg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=496

so to me, the whole thing is nothing more than a performance piece. steal a style of art, pose as a man (there are most likely several in the banksy team) and just go straight for the buzz/attention/etc.

even doing "conscious" work about world issues is just another ploy to draft attention from the masses.

if banksy is an artist, banksy is a performance artist. political cartoons are not art. they are op-ed journalism/illustration.

you mean, banksy is exactly the same. i wouldn't want to be the blek guy.

and if we all respect shepard fairey for his tireless nights with his design team vectoring his fingers to the bone, we'd also be wrong.

his company was preceded by a company called fuct, shepard just lifted numerous deign ideas from that company and insterted
the word "giant" and "obey" in place of fuct.

Yeah, he knows almost too much. I'm starting to think HE...... might be Banksy in disguise and trying to throw us off track with his girlie accusations.

Ya know..... ya can only paint or draw so many old ships at sea or fruit arrangements on a table with a drape in back of it until you go crazy. Pop art, Op art to Art Deco to realism, then add in expressionism and abstract to cubism or Renaissance and my favorite surrealism...... and what have you got............ ?? Whatever floats your boat.

Graffiti is definitely a form of art and if executed well, can be quite pleasing to the eye. It has young imagination along with young input of today's situations. Political... ?? Maybe, but not absolute.

Whether this Banksky is male, female or a gaggle of geese makes no never mind to me. The end result is still rather eye appealing to most. Like a bad logo or design, if it gets the masses talking and buzzing, it's working, so I guess whatever Banksy's MO is..... it's working, huh ??
