can a profile create overspray when printing?

I would not think so but just out of curiosity could it happen?

I don't believe that overspray can be attributed to a profile. In my experience, it is almost always a print-head alignment issue or related to heads that are wearing out, or possibly ink (3rd party) related issue. Low humidity can be another cause.
