I'm trying to help a customer source some acrylic for a project and having a hard time finding. Need 1/4" Clear 8'x8'... I've tried glantz, grimco and a couple local plastics places. Anyone have any ideas? Prefereably somewhere close to the midwest...

Acrylic doesn't come that big. Only poly-carb.
Actually it does. Their current setup is acrylic. Local plastics place can source it but it has to be shipped/palleted/etc and shipping quote was 1700.. So I'm trying to think outside the box...

Yeah, kinda like anything, if you're willing to pay for it, it can basically get made. That said, a piece of .21" poly would work fine and could be shipped rolled up.

Laird Plastics is in your backyard if you want alternative vendors, big outfit that should be competitive.

Profane and profane accessories.
I think you're going to have a difficult time finding an acrylic sheet at that size unless you're near a major metro area. And even if/when you do, the shipping costs are going to be high. After that, you're going to need to consider how you're going to unload it from the shipper's vehicle, how you'll be processing it, etc. I'm not saying you won't find one, I'm just opining it's going to be a major P.I.T.A.
I'd also suggest looking into polycarbonate as an alternative, as it could be rolled- meaning less cost for shipping. I personally don't care for using rolled poly because- depending on how long it's rolled up- it will often want to stay rolled. Then again, poly will be more durable and, in a sheet that size, that would more than likely be a major consideration.

In a size that big you're going to probably have to pay for shipping and you just going to have to add a minimum of 40% to it and pass it on to your client. It's just the way it is when you're doing something that large. We would normally ask for payment up front for the material as well before doing a project like that.
