Crosscut function crashes and displays error E01019

I've been using the Graphtec FC9000 for a couple of months without issue until yesterday, when it started having a problem.
When performing a crosscut, most of the operation works fine- it cuts the paper, but then it performs some calibration it seems, and the carriage intersects with a pin on the side. It succeeds the first two times, but the third contact with the pin at the end trips something and errors out. On screen the code E01019 appears. But the manual doesn't suggest a permanent fix for this. This has been happening about 80% of the time since yesterday.

The machine is otherwise still usable for now.

I havent yet taken any action in terms of looking under the carriage cover. I have taken out the crosscut blade and reinserted it. Nothing seemed amiss.

I have no idea what's wrong, sounds like an encoder issue of sort, but I do have a work around until you get it fixed
The 9000 may be different than my 8600, I doubt it, but on mine, I can flip the lever just enough to 'reset' the plotter, which allows the head to move freely, and just push the carriage to do the exact same cut sequence as the plotter does itself, pushing down on the knob for the crosscut blade. Then when I'm done I can select continue and the plotter doesn't know the difference. It is honestly faster, but doesn't work well if you're sending multiple files with cuts between all at once, because now you're babysitting the plotter.

On the fixing side, does it do the little shimmy after the crosscut to knock the cut vinyl loose? It looks like it is trying to 'retry' cutting because the photo eye is covered by the vinyl still, but the camera pans away and I can't tell.

I thought about just manually crosscutting by de-clamping. And manipulating the carriage myself. I will try it on for size. Where the carriage last appears in the video is where it stays after it glitches out. I could leave it beeping for a long time it wouldnt move, it wouldnjust sit there and beep. It's possible the camera is dirty but it has no problem finding crop marks and reading badcodes so I dont think so. It would be a horribly awkward this to try and check
