Cutting Polycarbonate

I always buy polycarbonate cut to size, but a new supplier cut everything oversize by 1/8" to 3/8" inch in each direction. I'm concerned they won't fit in the light cabinets without being trimmed.

Can polycarbonate be trimmed on a panel saw or are special blades or tools required? I know acrylic melts before it cuts cleanly, but I'm not sure with polycarb.

Any advice? Any reason not to do this?

I use a jigsaw too.

Just be aware it will be more difficult to cut the 1/8" off than to say, cut an inch off of an oversized piece. I usually buy roll stock full width and a few inches longer than needed. Then at least the factory edge will sit squarely on the bottom of the can, and you dont have to worry about perfect cuts as much.

We cut it in our panel saw all the time. Just go slow at the beginning and end, real slow, to avoid chipping.
Cutting a little off is way worse though. If I have to trim a little I use a jigsaw or router.

We use the hypoid circular saw with a 60 tooth non-ferrous metal/plastic blade on it with a cutting guide and it cuts like butter. Its also how we do long runs of aluminum and dibond.
