Double strike printing for backlit white acrylic faces?

Anyone know exactly how/what the process is for printing double strike for backlit signs so the image doesn't look washed out.? I have a Roland Soljet running Wasatch rip if that helps.

if its only washing out at night, ie when backlit, best practice is mirror print on clear second surface

I use versaworks rip and in there its under printer controls and you can pick how many times to overprint.

yup, the ink layers is in your print settings in your rip que. usually wherever you dial-up the temps.
make sure you allow for excess amounts of drytime as well, especially if you intend to laminate.

two layers of printed graphics is the way to go, for day/night similiarity, but if you gotta double-strike to save on $$$ then more power to ya. image is gonna be extremely dark when not lit, but its up to you if that matters at all.

I have never had anyone complain about my prints being too dark for the daytime when double striking.

You will, eventually. Double-striking affects certain colours more than others. Yellow will just get more yellow, black will just get more black, but on the other hand, pink will turn RED, orange may turn BROWN and you could have all sorts of unpredictable problems with pastel colours. Most photos will come out way too dark as well.
