I am in Central Ohio and in direct line for the total eclipse. Will be watching around 3pm today for totality. Have not experienced one before. Anyone else?

Saw one a few years ago and my wife and I used welders helmets to watch it. It sure gets an eerie darkness for a bit.

There was one in 2017 that we could see. It was really neat, and very eerie like Gino said. the air is filled with a quiet energy.
I remember a total eclipse when I was in elementary school . All the kids built a box thing to view it. It was a big deal.

I bought some glasses for it so I will probably watch it. I saw it a few years ago and it wasn't that cool but I think it was cloudy.

On a side note, my friend gave all his employees off today because he thinks we are going to have an EMP.

cloudy here, can't see the sky but it is definitely getting dark outside, should be 94% coverage in 45 minutes here in Houston

I'm in Houston waiting on the eclipse. We wont see anything though. It's overcast and raining.

we are watching news coverage of the eclipse on the TV, and I'm playing a mock-drinking game where you have to drink every time they say
"Totality". good thing I'm not actually drinking alcohol or I'd be sh!t faced right now.

That was pretty cool. Happened pretty quick, but definitely cool. Passed right over us here so we just walked outside for a few minutes. Didn't have to travel or anything. Cheap and easy once in a lifetime experience I suppose.

One thing I noticed....... the birds and animals in the area seemed to be noisier than normal, especially the birds. They were flying every which way. They musta sensed something more than just darkness.

I amazed at how cool it got, and how quickly. Didn't last long, but was a nice reprieve from the Texas heat.

it was an amazing view here. Glasses required up until it was a total. Never seen anything like this before firsthand. Binoculars made it even better to see the ring of light around the moon. Even at 99% coverage you cannot stare without glasses

We have carpenter bees out this time of year and they all started landing nearby like they were stunned. They are normally only out when it is daytime

I watched with my eclipse glasses, I thought it was very cool!!! It didn't get dark here but "less light" and almost hazy looking.

It was almost all behind clouds around here. Now, the frickin' sun is out clear & bright. B@st@rd.

Even though we were only supposed to get 25%, I couldn't tell at all because the clouds moved in. We did have a crazy lady walking around outside who tried to shake down the FedEX guy though. So, we got some sort of interesting entertainment.

It's amazing how just a little bit of the sun lights up everything so much. Right before it went completely dark it's still surprising light... 1 or 2% of sun is a lot.

You could get drunk faster by using the word “amazing” from the reports on TV. I was outside but did not look up.
