Fellers?

Fellers is who we usually order from but they've been awful lately.
We order a bunch of avery white matte vinyl and they tell me it's not in stock and asked me if I want another size or color (in an email). I asked for my salesman, Stuart, he's no longer there. They can tell I'm a bit upset after I complain about them not notifying me of a new rep, and then asked if I want it shipped direct from Avery. Why wouldn't they just do that?
I got the roll already from avery, but the items that were in stock, I still haven't received.

So much for private equity groups buying successful business.

Stopped dealing with them quite some time ago. It's largely due to I believe ALL the phone operators work from home nowadays and don't have a clue as to what is really going on beyond their front door.

If it isn't cast, I likely have a good alternative to Avery in my warehouse in Cleveland. I don't know what part of Ohio you are in, but if we can help, maybe we can find a way to make a few bucks together. My email is Mark@HascoGraphics.com. Let me know the product and if I have the alternative, I can get you pricing and specs.

Fellers laid off the entire Equipment Support department today and lost the Mutoh and HP dealerships. Word is that Platinum Equity sold the company with an announcement Thursday, Oct 9 at 2 pm CT

I always liked Fellers for many years before it was bought out.
Local rep would fight for the best pricing and make the order happen.

They are extremely expensive now.

Agreed, they have been really bad lately. When they closed the Des Moines warehouse, it was the last warehouse that we were within a 1 day ship time from, it used to be 5 warehouses. I told our rep how disappointed in them I am. He then contacted us a few months later and said they were re-opening it. Well now a couple of weeks ago we were notified that it is again closing this coming Friday Oct. 10th. What, after maybe a year of being back open!!?? I was NOT happy  I emailed a very strongly worded email to our new rep. He supposedly read it to his boss and one of the owners that week as they were in meetings. I told them were are seriously considering taking our business elsewhere. His response was basically if you have to do that, that's what you have to do. After 30 years of buying from them clear back in the Ameriban days.... Last week I ordered a 50yd roll of Oracal vinyl to replace a defective roll from the factory. We received 3 separate rolls of various lengths, 2 of which were damaged due to the way they crammed them in the box. I called in and told them to take it all back & the rep said the reason being was that they were out of full rolls & we were sent the 3 since they are on back order. I told them that is unacceptable, I need a full roll. They should have said the only option was getting 3 separate rolls. Yesterday I get on their website to order a plotter blade, only to find out they no longer carry them & will not be re-stocking them. I went straight to the company who maufactures them and ordered some at a better price. I wonder how they will be after the above mentioned sale that's coming? Reps from another company told me a couple months ago Fellers was up for sale is why they were out of stock on so many items, keeping stock low for a potential sale. Frustrating!

Fellers really helped me a lot when I first started my side gig 20 years ago. They sold really nice sewn banners too! I rarely use them anymore, much of the reason is it's hard to know when things are in stock and how long shipping is unless you call. I don't have time to call, I just want to go online to Grimco, check the shipping and order.

A few months ago I heard from a sales rep from a different company that my local Fellers sales rep was fired. Haven't seen a new one so I just got online to find my new "local" sales rep and they cover 16 states. That's a real personal touch right there.

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
All the local reps were fired.
Aww, the guy who had all the Punisher stickers on his car and talked about how the minorities were planning world domination was let go? Such a shame.

Yeah, the rep in OKC was an awful person. Can't speak to anyone else's reps though.

My rep was "replaced" by someone who doesnt know the first thing about print media, even giving the new person the actual catalog code they couldn't find it. I was not surprised to hear that it was not in stock. Only reason I kept buying from them was my rep, once I found out he was let go I all but stopped buying from them. They have used up their 9 lives with me and I order from other suppliers.

Did’nt the cowboy (Fellers) lose the business to his wife when they divorced years ago? He took it from sewing banners in his garage to a multi million dollar business.

I was customer #4. I was almost one of the initial customers and always got good service. My rep was great and when I started the cowboy's uncle was running the show and frank was sewing the banners in his garage. That's all they did in the beginning, then they started to branch out, the uncle was gone and they changed their name a few times and became a really big todo. When frank was still running the show, he started giving in to all kindsa stuff and then sold it. The new owners is about the time, I left after I went through some of their shenanigans. Wasn't worth the hassles. They adopted a NO tolerance attitude and that just wasn't what the company stood for all those years...... so fugem.

Just FYI - Glantz will have additional Mutoh ink inventory if you were purchasing from Fellers. We have been told Fellers is no longer selling Mutoh inks and equipment. Glad to help in any way that I can.

I figure it's just a matter of time before Grimco's acquisition snowball leads to even more decay. Another industry that is seeing huge consolidation, so only a matter of time before things get way worse and way more expensive.

As of today Fellers is no longer a Mutoh dealer. Any printers in warranty need to be transferred to another dealer. Fellers Tech Bob Bodnar is working out the details to move over to Glanz, I am retiring. I highly encourage you to call Mutoh at (480) 968-7772 and have your account transferred to Glanz.
