Half lettered trucks sold rant

Stacey K

I like making signs
Nothing irritates me more than someone selling their work vehicle and they don't remove the lettering. The new guy takes off JUST ENOUGH so the name isn't on it but the tag lines are - this makes the old business look BAD!!!!! Just drove in and saw "The Glass Gurus" old van running around with the name gone but other stuff on there. It seems pretty common up here. Another van driving around with someone's logo with the name removed. Totally obvious who it was.

Quit buggin' me
Only looks bad when you see a truck you lettered on CNN with a recoilless rifle welded into the bed somewhere in the middle east.

I had a customer who sold them with the graphics still on. Was not a good look for him when they were seen around town driving badly and looking really crappy

I see them on Craiglist sometimes, someone trying to sell a beater of a service van with a full wrap or graphics all over. Doubt they want to spend the time and cost to remove so it's a good way to haggle down on price.

I can think of a lotta things that irritate me more than this. However, none of them are related to the sign industry, except for one ;-)

No, don't flatter yourself. You're not an annoyance or an irritant...... your more like a sore throat, ya just don't want it round.

To state it better:

"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are"

Okay, then it IS you. Your work is done and you may now leave the room. While you're out, pick up a tube of preparation H.
