That year I was competing with another supplier for the same customer. It had been snowing heavily for days. The customer’s printhead broke and they needed a replacement urgently. My competitor was a few hundred CNY cheaper than me, about USD 60 less. My price was higher, but I told the customer, I can deliver it to you tonight. They were really happy and said, If you can get it here tonight, all my orders for the next year are yours. So a colleague and I drove through the snow all night . It was only about 140 km, but the snow was so bad that the drive took the entire night

Back then I was really broke, so I had to fight for every single order. I’m still working with that customer today. Every time we have a few drinks together, he brings it up and says, Man, that snowstorm that year… I honestly never thought you d actually make it.

Yep, little to no outside installs during the winter - with a couple of exceptions.
Edit to add... winters are getting warmer and warmer, so that window is getting smaller. If it's 40 or above we can do outdoor installations. It's 40 here right now. It did snow a bit this morning, but it was a dusting, and it's all gone now. We just try not to schedule them when it's likely to be too cold.

Good job blindsign man, you used the last functioning 1% left of your brain to realize it's not 85 and sunny in Dallas. If you use 2%, you could come to the conclusion that was I wasn't in Dallas.. but that's asking too much. Go lie down and get some rest, today was hard.
Same here in Kelowna. Quite a few houses lost on the west side of Okanagan lake. Too close for comfort.

Weather is improving. We can see shadows now! and the smoke is crawling out. Looks like they're beginning to get a handle on the fires. Current and new. there's like 3 new fires popping up everyday.
It was actually chilly for a day or so, weird but welcome. Temps high not over 70's Monday, it's Wednesday and we're back to 90's. TG the insane winds that helped this firestorm haven't returned.
Oh, and for those not following closely, many signs point to one human dipshit who has been arrested. A lot is unfolding.
I'll end my report with... Spokane is a big city and county, but so connected it feels small. It's refreshing to know in real life outside the www, we know each other, and we've got each other. For the most part.

I saw last night that they arrested someone. I didn't read what the motive was. I have no idea what a person gets out of destroying so many lives. Sad individual.

It gets weird... He was seen at the location the first fire started in the brush acting suspicious. Some guy and his grandson reported him. Police talked to him and let him go. Then they found out he was questioned last year about two different fires, but they couldn't arrest him for anything. I think once they put that together, they arrested him 2 days later. This guy did time in AZ for killing his father because he asked him to do the dishes. He was a teenager back then, because that was like 16 years ago, and he's only 37.
Anyway, I think we are a long way off for a motive since he says he didn't do it. I think he's being arraigned today.
But there were THREE fires that all started about the same time. One person could not possibly have done that. It's weird.
ETA - we have a motive...
