IC Check Slot 1 Error

I initialized the application and it started working. I still don't have black and cyan back but I think I'm done for tonight anyway.
I want to add, I ordered the Printhead from DigiPrint. It came without a ranking so now I'm waiting for a phone call back to get it working.

OK Digiprint have a track record of selling bad heads, and they refuse to accept them back for returns. What you can do is swap the new head with the yellow/magenta one. If it then prints you know the head is ok, if it doesn't then the it could be a bad head.

Great! I hope that is not the case. I'm already not happy that there is not Ranking number included. I have 2 new caps coming and I don't want to take it apart again until i get those. I will swap the cap out again and if that doesn't do it, i will switch the print heads around.

I wouldn't worry too much about there not be a heading rank number. The head will still work fine without updating it, but it should have one if it came from them. They seem to be getting second quality heads from somewhere and selling them as perfect.

If using syringe you don't see any ink in it then more likely cap top not attaching properly to a head. If you already replaced head I will recommend pull out carriage across the print table and carefully look if head seating parallel to a table. If it is on angle then there is your problem. If you have good inkflow then it could be some issue with electronics. (head cables, blown fuse on main board or damaged transistor or Epson drivers on the main board)

not to be devil's advocate, but, no one ever was unable to print properly because of the lack of a head rank number.
you might not be able to use your existing profiles and color match a previous job perfectly, but, to tell you the truth when we put the new head in my mutoh, neither of us bothered to record the head rank. it truly was not worth the effort to take it apart and recover the head rank number.

I have fitted DX4 heads plenty of times without updating the head rank and have never had a problem or seen a difference in colours or print quality. I really think any difference it makes ( if any! ) is so tiny nobody would notice

I received my new caps yesterday and installed the black/blue side. I used the syringe and was able to pull ink immediately. I ran a few head cleans and was going to print some color squares to clean the heads out. Versaworks is not talking to the printer. I replaced the printer cable but that didn't help. Versaworks says it's not connected to the printer.

I restarted VersaWorks again and it connected this time. I'm going to try several ink fills to see if it will pump up ink.

You don't really need to do ink fills, if you run a couple of powerful cleans this should be enough to draw ink through to the heads. You can also check the output into the waste bottle as well then to make sure it is ok

If you use syringe and are not getting anything, is there resistance against the syringe?
I am thinking you may have cracked one of the nipples on the manifold causing,an air leak
remember the manifold is pretty fragile like one of your grandmother’s Christmas ornaments

i have done this to myself a few times
Exactly what happened. I tried to pull in with a syringe on the yellow/magenta side and was getting mostly air. I took the manifolds off and found the magenta nipples was broke off.

If I read correctly, the black prints, and then it fades off. Is that correct?
if so, you most likely have not done something correctly attaching the captop, damper or have not used a good quality damper, captop. in my opinion the only dampers and captops that work properly are genuine Roland parts. All of the third-party parts have always failed when customers purchase them. I always end up putting in genuine Roland parts.
when you say you check the ink slots, what exactly are you doing to check them? And what errors are you getting?
When i reinitialized it whipped out all my profiles. I'm at this page but it doesn't give me the download option. http://download.rolanddg.jp/VersaWorks/RVW3_E5510.htm

Do know where I download from?

Your link is just an info page. You should be able to get profiles by going to your Versaworks tab in your start menu and clicking on the Online Update. It will take you to a window where you should be able to access a button to download profiles.

The doesn't appear to be any downloads for 5.5.1 anymore. I looks like information only. The AI assistant says Versaworks 6 should work but model SP300v isn't listed as being supported. SP300i is listed, is the software the same?

Send me your email by Conversations. I have the .rml for the stock profiles (16) for the SP-300V. It's too big for uploading here. I'll send it to you by a file transfer site.

SP300V only runs under the 5.x.x series.
