We recent did a lighted sign for a customer, existing sign, just replaced the panels. Digital printed graphics on translucent white vinyl, applied to white 3/16" lexan. At night the sign looks totally washed out. The bulbs inside are cool white 85 watt. The sign is a 12" deep frame so the bulbs aren't right on top of the panels.
Any suggestions on how to remedy the washed out look? My thought was to double-layer plain white vinyl on the inside to sort of diffuse the brightness of the bulbs coming through. A single layer or white worked a bit, but a double layer might be better.
We were told we can't get warm white bulbs for outdoor use, so that option leaves only daylight which is brighter, correct?
Trying to do this in the most cost effective way also, and trying to avoid having to reprint the whole thing as it is oversized...
