I've gotten .020" prepainted white. Good luck loading a sheet onto the table without it kinking... Eastern Metal Supply is in/around FL, give them a shout, they handle precut blanks.

0000000 is the final gauge @ 1/2" thick.

Even the 080 we get from EMS has a slight bow to it. That real light stuff is better suited for forming which gives it strength, like in metal siding.

Plus #1,000 .25" thick 12x18 plates is going to be some major weight.
The Russians hang steel plates like that off the sides of their tanks but painted dark green.
