Magnet/Table Runner printing - Production questions

So I just landed a contract for a bunch of items including clings, prints etc.. Issue is I never thought I would get the contract and the numbers I put in are ok but I have production concerns.

One of the contracts is for 1000 magnets annually. The size is 26" x 49". I can either get a 30" magnetic roll or a 50" roll. 50" would be optimal. I just need an efficient way to run them. I currently have a Colorado M5 but would need to get the magnetic kit to run. I also have an EFI 16h which is just clumsy. I was thinking about just buying another machine that handles magnets well. Just need some thoughts on whether I can get this done on my current setup without losing a bunch of material. I don't want to print all the magnets at once but need inventory. Thought maybe buying a Mimaki to run these would expand what I currently can do and wouldn't really break the bank.

Secondly in this contract I have 1000 table runners I need to deal with. I used a price from an outside vendor and marked it up but need to lock down a good partner. As much as I'd like to start printing in house, I don't have the machine... but really don't have the finishing.

Magnets are the real concern as I priced these running in house but based on the numbers, I might be printing 20 - 50 per week shipped individually to various locations.

Colorado magnet kit is a no brainer.

If you have a Colorado, and the potential to run that many magnets, the magnetic kit will be awesome for you. Machine should have been setup to run magnet from the get go from Canon.
I didn't know they made a 50" roll. Would have been perfect for the job I just ran. What brand and where are you getting that?
I've only been able to get 24, 40, or 48". We buy the Magnum Magnetic .020 and it runs great.
The .020 comes default on a 6" core so we transfer to a 3" core with a leader so we can print right to the end of the roll without wasting any magnetic since it's only a 50' roll.
The Magnum Magnetic .025 comes on a 3" roll and is comparable magnetic strength to .030 that we use on vehicles.
We just got done running 25 rolls of 48" .020 and it definitely beats sheeting it and running on our flatbed.

Get the magnet kit it will pay for its self.
Take your time and print the 50" rolls.
56 rolls three hours per day two weeks, cash In.

The colorado needs a magnetic kit. That costs around $5,000 I think.

The Magnum only comes as wide as a 48". I am looking at a NewLife Magnetics roll that comes in widths up to 50" and various thicknesses. In a perfect world will run 50" 20 mil. Canon was not keen on me running these rolls and said they were not great on the Colorado, but they are also trying to sell me the materials. One of my local guys I buy material from has 4 Mimaki UCJV300160 printers for sale just off lease. I assumed I would have less issues running this machine and I won't have to keep interrupting the Colorado. The used Mimaki is $6500 plus inks so in the end prob around 8k. The Mimaki also gives me the ability to cut which right now I am limited to doin on my Colex. I don't know.... I was looking at a new Mimaki and I had no clue it would be around $30,000.

AT ONE TIME we did a fair number of magnets for a couple clients.
being notoriously cheap, i fabricated a platen for one of the rolands out of aluminum.
best money i ever spent.

Yeah 1000+ 26" x 49" magnets at $76.00 each is a pretty good deal for me. I could use an extra 70k a year in sales.
