Magnetic Signs Stuck to Truck

Customer came by with the magnetic signs that I sold him printed by 365 and the rubber on the back stuck to the door. When I started to peel it up the rubber remained and the surface vinyl was being pulled off it. I mean time for scraper and adhesive remover and buffing. Looks like a good mornings work and hoping I won't need to buy him a paint job. White truck, signs had black printed background, so they sucked in some heat. We don't live in a hot place though.

Why would you have to re-paint his truck? He should have been taking them off more often, so that doesn't happen.
As long as the customer was TOLD to remove them. In our litigous society, you cannot assume your customer will do the right thing based on common sense, so as the "expert" on what we sell it behooves us to educate the customer to protect ourselves.

I tell people all the time the magnet cannot stay on more than 2 weeks before needing to be washed. The Joint Base here leaves them on for years and just like RiXaX, I gotta peel them off with heat. Took paint off with a few, but they were warned. I wound up putting the same graphic in its place, only a little larger.
