Needig a part for Gerber Edge

I am needing to replace the Gas Spring Rods that hold up the lid of my Edge. I was wondering if there was a aftermarket part like one from the automotive industry that would work. I have not called Gerber yet, but feel that their part would be extremely expensive as is everything else of theirs. I know the longer ones used in the automotive industry are not expensive and if I could find the right length I feel like it would work. Has anyone else replaced their Gas Spring Rods?

I'd contact Gerber.
The part in and of itself may not be expensive.
It's getting THEM to fix it that can be pricey!
My last part was $8.

The NAPA part number is 819-5622. The SPD number is SPD-GSNI-5000-60.
