Please help my never ending mutoh problems!

Do you guys see the size difference between the caps? How can the company that makes my printer sell me a part that doesnt even work? The cap doesn't even seal the head. The head just hangs over the side of it!

I took a look at the Color Head and a Cap Top of a 38" FO printer. Notice the lines I made (Yellow Arrows point these out), this is the last row of nozzles on either side of the head. Compared to the Cap Top it clearly shows enough room/space to cover all the nozzles of the Print Head. It is close, I will give you that but if adjusted correctly The Head will seat properly on to the Cap Top which would pull the correct vacume while the pump in energized producing proper ink flow...

As for who makes the parts and where they come from, I don't know and never had a reason to question this... I do know that when I install the parts I get and make all needed adjustments to the machines they do work consistently with little to no call backs...

I compared a 3 year old Cap Top (had it on my desk for I know at least 3 years) to a brand new one I pulled off the shelf... They were identical...

My new ones dont cover the nozzles on the head. Not comfortably at least. Still waiting to hear back from signwarehouse.

I've had that problem. Try this. Soak a papertowel in eco-solvent. Make sure lever is down, move head out and place papertowel over black pad in capping station. Move head back over capping station, Let soak for an hour and check it.. The paper towel will draw out the black. If there's not much on there yet, try soaking longer. It worked for me, I was going crazy with it.

It's from your print head touching the capping station pad or from when you did a head soak.

Just take the yellow damper off and pull the ink out with a syringe, put it back in and pull yellow back into it, if it's still not a good yellow then repeat the process.

I also have the new and old capping stations... one with screens and one without. I tinkered with the new one for a couple of weeks and was only able to get a good seal on one side.

So I will +1 to the notion that the new capping stations suck.

I just ordered a screen from mcmasters per a suggestion from another forum member to add to my old capping station.

Also a tip from Signage Specialists is to take your old (swelled) pads out and let them sit between a couple phone books to flatten and dry them out, then put them back. I've done that and it works pretty good.
