Rattle can paint on tapcons?

We have a monument sign with some decorative elements that will be attached with tapcon hardware. The architect specified black hardware. Thinking about spraying the tapcons with black rattle can type paint and wondering if it will hold up well over time. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

I like making signs
Many times I've sprayed trailer screws to match vinyl colors with no issues. I use Rustoleum high performance enamel punched into a piece or coroplast sticking up, two coats. It dries fast. When I'm done I write the vinyl color it matches on the cover for later use. I've painted lots and lots of random screws white or black to match sign boards with no issues. I don't see why it wouldn't work on Tapcons even with the blue coating, maybe the Krylon for plastics would work also. I've had good luck with that for home use of plastics.

we do this all the time.

stab an array of them into a piece of scrap foamboard and paint all at once.
Bring some with for install to touch-up any scratches from your toolbit, spraying into the captop and using a Qtip/Brush to apply the paint.

06/13- no prep needed to paint the tap cons... I am the painter for our company, be it with MPC or rattle can process is the same.... primer is not needed, doesn't matter how many coats...it will get damaged so use a cheep artist brush after and clean up the mar marks. if its going to be a color that stays on the truck, I give my installers a Rustoleum 2k can's. its both primer and top coat that likes to run like crazy but for screw heads, stab them though some cardboard, spray and let air dry (20-40 mins depending on sun/heat) MPC is a different animal repainting (Foam is good for the first 3 to 4 dips then the foam gets broken down.)
