registration marks in Flexi from a different printer

My printer went down last week and my tech is on vacation until next week. My screen printer has the same software as me although his printer is a newer version, so I figured that I could use his printer and then bring the print jobs back to my shop to laminate and cut. The first job I did, I loaded in the drivers for my Summa cutter and it printed fine with the proper registration marks. I made sure to write down all the parameters for the print and the cut so I could match them up in my software. So the registration marks were set to 10 inches apart and I did the same on my software. When I go to cut the job it reads the first mark and goes out to about the 7.5" mark and cant find the mark. I wait until the plotter beeps and I manually set it over the proper mark at the 10" point. It reads it and then reads the next but when it gets to the last mark it says something like " out of parameter" or some such message. I tried again and double checked the registration mark gap and again it does not go out 10" but about 7". Any ideas on how to get this cut? Since this job I have printed several others and then before laminating I test it out to see if it will read the marks and so foar so good, so I can't figure out why this one just refuses to follow instructions.

are we somehow misdetecting the edge
you would think the machine can "count to 10"
is there an edge or material sensor (probably 3 inches from the edge of material) so it thinks it reaches the10 inch mark?
