Well after only 4 years Roland have discontinued the GR2 plotter range. Strange thing is they no longer are showing a wide format plotter in their range.
I was very dissapointed with my GR2 when initially installed and it was replaced by two other GR2s, which all had the same issues.
The issues are:-
Awful tracking especially on contour cuts over 2 Metres long.
The blade scratching the material as the vaccum and blade return height are useless.
Clunks and bumps whilst plotting that leave a mark on the cut media.
I could go on and on and on!
I discussed the problems with Roland I was having with mine when it was less than 6 months old.
The reply I got was "The problems will be sorted when the GR3 is released!".
I thought this was not very helpful.
Sadly these are just a rebadged GCC plotter which is just a cheap Chinese plotter.
The most unRoland thing Roland have ever put their name too.
All GR2 owners should be given free of charge a new GR3 (or better a GR1) for all the problems with these plotters.
