Slow, cluncky, GUI is rubbish and most importantly ripping jobs now takes 10 times longer. Worst of all if you don't register your printer on their server within a week you can never use it again? like what the heck. My XR connected ok but the VS needs to be registered but their online registeration severs not working lol. Tried a print and Cut job on the XR, took 40min just to rip and then after laminating and changing to cut only it was ripping the file all over again and needed another 30min to an hour. I booted up version 5, it ripped the file in less than a minute and started cutting before version 7 could even get to 10%.

I have a high end PC with NVME drives, tone of DDR5 memory and latest i9.

Dont waste your time, stick to v5 and 6. Roland seriously? get your act together! Don't try to be Apple, atleast their software works!

Adam,
i assume you do not use a slow computer...

what does task manager show for resources when you are RIPing?
you must have a bottle neck in CPU, RAM or DISK USAGE.
unless they have the world's worse internal programming

perhaps you need tio add a drive for temps and working directory?

i am not going to suggest downloading a systems diagnostic program (i have that tendency to turn things into a bigger project, that can't be
helped, i guess)

post a screen shot of task manager <more details> during a rip.

for the hell of it, do a reboot afterwards, and repeat the process with the same file and do task manager again

i assume windows 11 pro?

let's see cpu core usage / disk usage while ripping in 7 vs 5. It says on their website, you can contact a Roland dealer to get version 7 that does not require connecting to the internet. I'm betting it's uploading every rip job to Roland. If you're using Windows, get "NetworkTrafficView" program.
