SUCCESS!! I followed The guide you sent to the letter and it worked!!! The limit was set, I powered up the machine and printed a report that you see here. I also printed a test print after 2 moderate cleanings. As you can see I'm missing a bit of red ink there. (My machine hasn't run since the first week in October.) Do you have any suggestions to open that red line? View attachment 179684

DamenCA21 I reset the limit position and I'm up and running. A bit of a problem with that red line you see on my test print. I only have 1 head on the vs540i, Ill try to do a powerful cleaning next. Thanks for chiming in on my feed!

You could try a powerful cleaning to see if that improves, another thing is to do a 48 hour head soak. My guess is that if the Magenta head was working fine before it broke down, then it's clogged nozzles.

Whats the best way to soak it? Everything was working fine before I cleaned my linear scale and found that it was a mess.

Today I was printing, mostly black, when I got this error code right at the end of printing about an hour. INTERNAL ERROR 2090487

What you do is turn off the power, clamp the lines after the cap top, move the head and fill the cap top with cleaning liquid, put the head back into the locked position, let soak for 24 hours, then reapply liquid as needed, then let sit for the next 24 hours. After the 48 hours, perform a powerful cleaning and see if any improvement, if not, as a last ditch effort you could try gently pulling ink with a syringe from one of the lines after the cap top, but you'll need to pinch the other close and see if that helps after you perform a medium cleaning. If none of these help, then unfortunately, you'll be looking at a new print head, but hopefully it will work.

   • Outdated or corrupted firmware can cause internal errors.

I had seen the soaking method, so I will try that tomorrow early. I have a cut vinyl job due anyway, won't hurt to leave it soak overnight for good measure.

I will try all of these, but I can tell you my encoder stripe is as clean as a whistle ( and brand new) I do need to calibrate it... I could see a firmware glitch maybe. I did unplug my network cable when I went searching for my fuses, maybe its loose?
