Need Help summa S2T 140 touch screen suddenly buggy

hi!

i haven't been back for a long time. but i was hoping that somebody could help me out. here is what happened:
(1) while i was normally using my S2T 140 [cut w/ reg marks OPOS XY], out of the blue, the screen suddenly was unresponsive to the usual touch.
(2) after some experimentation, it seems that all of the contacts i am making with the touch screen were being shifted downward by around 1cm.
(3) i tried to press on settings so that i can try to re-calibrate the touchscreen. but that button is always on top. so, i am unable to activate it.
(4) i have tried to restart/unplug the cutter, and even updated the firmware to the most recent version. but i am still unable to get it to work.
(5) i was hoping that somebody from summa could give me an idea on how to gain access to the touch screen calibration screen? or even factory reset my cutter?
right now, i am still able to use my cutter through the summa cutter control. but it's very inconvenient. so any help would really be appreciated.

thanks! :)

Have you already checked to make sure the ribbon cable is securely connected to the mainboard? If the cable gets loose, it can cause the screen to have issues like what you are describing.

hi phil!

yes, that was actually the first thing i did. i replaced the ribbon cable once, so i had an extra ribbon lying around. i thought that would fix it, but sadly, nothing has changed.

We had something like that with our S1T years ago. I can't remember if we figured it out but it seemed to fluctuate with temperature iirc.

You can try another procedure to calibrate the S2 display:

- Power on the plotter
- Touch and hold the UPPER RIGHT corner of the display while the Summa logo is displayed

in this way the plotter directly enters in the touch screen calibration mode.
