This whole thing has now gotten to a point, where there's no right or wrong, good or bad or anything else. It's just a pathetic buncha kids playing in the sandbox and everyone seems to be in the wet end throwing the pissy sand around.

Yes, someone is paying tax on some of the buildings, but many of them live in abandoned buildings..... like 5 and 6 families in one building. Many years ago, we rented out a 3,800 sq ft building to some hispanic guys who had a delivery business. They said they'd bring the food in by tractor trailer and use our space to put it all into smaller trucks, so they could maneuver around the streets of our town. The rent was I think $1,800 a month and they paid in cash. All fives, tens and twenties...... Hmmmmmmm............ Anyway turned out the food was coming up from mexico and was so outdated it wasn't fit to eat, but they're used to the gut rot sh!t. Anyway, this went on for 2 or 3 more months and one day about 50 people showed up with machine guns, bazookas, cannons, dogs and you name it, they had it. Seems along with the lousy food for a coverup, they were smuggling in drugs to our place. It was the biggest drug bust in pennsylvania history. They had an inside informant who knew we had nothing to do with it and they were tracking them for over 2 years. I asked, couldn't you have waited til I got more money outta them ?? Their dogs sniffed the money, but we said most of it was already in the bank. There are so many ways of not paying taxes, but you're thinking like a naive person who doesn't do this sh!t for a living.

My biggest issue with immigration, as a woman, is the culture differences. I've dealt with all types of American born customers, black men and women, Asian men and women, white men and women with few problems.

When we get into the immigrants, no problems with Mexicans, they have been very respectful...but...I DO have an issue with Armenians. The older men have ZERO respect for women and will NOT take NO for an answer. Thank goodness for another customer when one of them relentlessly was harassing me - it was horrible. I've had problems with a few of them. The younger ones seem to have integrated better and don't really argue anymore. I think it might be a large gypsy family that came over, the older men are still peddling their BS and the younger ones learned to adjust.

That's the thing though, as Americans, we respect women but in other cultures we are nothing but baby makers. I don't want that culture and attitude towards women to spread here. I've experienced it and I don't like it.

You do know that USA citizens pay tariffs right? When USA "tariffs another country" the USA importer gets the bill which is then passed on to the consumer. Tariffs are taxes on USA citizens

Frankly, I don't, but all of the info I can pull is pretty biased, aside from that access hollywood tape, which I can give him a mulligan there. Otherwise I don't think I've seen him interact with a women outside of debates, which again, mulligan as there is a strategy to not being respectful.

We are a Canadian business and import into the US and buy from the US. This is both directly and indirectly through customers, distributors and suppliers.

How are Canadian and US businesses handling the new challenges?

I suppose we can add the additional Chinese tariffs into the thread as well.

I'm sure this will become slightly politically charged but this is not the goal of this thread. I'm hoping for a discussion that provides pragmatic and practical observations.
