US Tariffs, Sigh!

I think some people dislike him, and think his policies are so bad that they don't think he knows what hes doing.

I never watch media - sometimes I see snippets of his speeches, but I always view them as snippets and go watch the whole thing so I have the whole story, not some news crap.

I personally don't think he's dumb, I just think he's in a job he should not be doing - if I got hired as the ceo/CFO of an airline company, I'm sure id run it into the ground.... I'm not an airline CEO, and while I feel like I have ideas that could make them more profitable.... Im sure if I forced those ideas, the company would be ruined. Trump is the same - he's not a president, he's not even a politician, he doesn't know how to run a company. He's a media / real estate mogul - he doesn't know how to be political, and it's at best causing a huge divide between Republican / Democrats, and at worst destroying the country. There's been a divide for awhile, but it's the worst it's ever been because he tends to fuel the flames... If he doesn't get his way, he has a fit and runs a bus through everyone in that way - and while some of that's deserved, most of it isn't.

Look at Iran - he rushed into it without consulting any other country, now oil prices have gone so far up... He's removing the sanctions on the country he's bombing to try and get gas costs to go down before it causes even more havoc. So now the Iran oil that's worth a buttload more than it was before we bombed them is going for sale... and we're pretty much funding the country were at war with. And what did we accomplish? We killed one bad leader so his equally bad son could take over, and seek even more vengeance.

I agree with A LOT of what trump wants to do in principle, just not the way he goes about it. Iran was terrible... The regime needs to go, I could care less if every single person in that regime who has enabled thousands of civilians to die, ends up hanged on the side of the street - but the way trump handled it has made the situation worst for the Iranian people, and the rest of the world. He hires his buddy's or loyalists to positions they don't deserve to be in, and are not qualified to be in - Pete Hegsworth is bad... Kristi noem is bad.... Kash Patel is bad, neither are qualified to be in their positions... And they're just yes men. A leader needs someone to explain to them when they're doing something wrong, or when their idea isn't the best. not to step into the road with them when they're about to get hit by a car.

The simple act that he tariffed every country, said USA needs nothing from them.... Bombed a country, then asked for help opening the straight... Only to say the next day everyone is chicken and he doesn't need anyone's help to open it.. only to ask for help again the following day, and say a lot of countries are already saying they want to help.... Only to come back the next day and say NATO is ungrateful and no one will help.... That alone makes him look incompetent. How much flip flopping can you do? How can you insult your alies on one day, aks for help on another... Then go back to insulting them?

Sooo don't assume everyone is against him because of what they read on the news or are told. Just like every president, trump has his own flaws... And some of those flaws are why people dislike him and wish he wasnt president. I dislike him because I think he's bad for America, even without his policies, the simple fact that he's president is causing a huge divide... Whether it's his fault or the left's fault, that's up for debate. But if he were t president....I feel like we'd be better off. Not saying we'd be better if it were Hilary or Kamala, or Biden... But if either of those 3 were in office, I'd likelly have just as many complaints about them as trump. You will have diehards on both sides... Some Democrats will hate him no matter what, and some Republicans will stand by him until they die no matter what - it's nothing new, every president has people like that.

I see some from both parties in this thread...

The second last paragraph nails it.

Geneva, I'm not listening to some propaganda outfit explain to me why he's good. I knew from the news stories about him in 1978 that he was a bad person. You should have known a long time ago that he wasn't presidential material. His own mama sent him off to military school because she couldn't handle him. She didn't send his siblings. The stories were reported in the 60'. 70's, 80's and 90's. A long time and a bunch of bankruptcies before the Apprentice. If I have TDS, I got it in the seventies.

He didn't ask for help. He told the allies that they needed to stand up and defend themselves. They CAN'T. We don't need Iran's oil. Europe does.

I voted for Trump, I like most of what he's done so far, especially with immigration. I'm not too happy about this Iran thing. I thought it might be in and out but that's not going to be case.

As to Geneva's comment - you're exactly right, our allies cannot defend themselves and if our homeland is hit...will they show up to save the day - do they have the ability? That part of it is a bit eye opening.

If the economy plummets, it will be a good time to invest in real estate if you have some extra cash. Homes will be foreclosing or selling cheap. Just sayin...it doesn't hurt to diversify...

especially with immigration.- Stacey, we are next door to you and ICE is not well thought of here in Mn. And if the economy plummets
a whole lot o people are going to get hurt. I just turned 80yo and the big picture is looking grim. to me. I will be fine but someone needs to look out for the people who are not as fortunate as we are.

I had a big response typed out... but theres not much of a point. I can point to the dozens of times he asked for mine sweeping ships, asked different countries for help...even said hes in talks with a bunch of countries and they cant wait to help... only to say the opposite the next day.

America should have let europe deal with Iran - Not followed israel into a war they had no teeth in and not involved any of Europes allies with the decision when it affected them.

What if China started to Bomb Mexico because of the cartels, then demanded America help with it?

My main point is, and always has been Trump is not fit to be a president - You don't alienate your allies, confuse what Nato is actually for... Alienate your allies again...and constantly throw hissy fits when you don't get your way.

For a president that Campaigned on him being the one that would never start a war, he sure is pretty bomb happy.

why would china bomb mexico? they have a deal with them for fentanyl production.

BTW: trump hasn't started any wars. he's finishing them. iran has been in upheaval since the 70s...go talk with some of your iranian friends if you have any.

I have lots of Iranian friends. I work with 1. As I said, something needed to be done about Iran - but why is it America's job?

America has not been at war with Iran since the 70s.

Republicans are funny - you guys complain America is in Iraq, Afghanistan, and those wars need to stop... But if trump starts another one it's all hunky Dory.

How did trump finish the war? By killing the leader and passing it to his son? Do you think iran, or the rest of the world now better off today than they were a week ago? If anything both situations are worst - and trump has no plan to make it better.

But hey, he can play hardball on Friday so the stock markets dip, then 45 minutes before announcing he's no longer going to bomb their plants, a 500 million dollar stock trade is placed... Very suspicious timing! Almost as if he's feeding someone insider information

We are now at the part of the story where you're just blabbering misinformation. Trump didn't just take out the leader..he took out 2 lines of leadership before finally getting to the son. Fun fact, the son has no leg and is now mentally incompetent from a bomb.
Every president since Reagan has said Iran would never have nuclear weapons...Not one president has ever followed through with that statement until Trump.

You mentioned trump isn't a business owner...he's a "media/real estate mogul." By that same logic, you're a my space media personality.

Wasn´t it Obama who signed an agreement with Iran about monitoring Iran´s nuclear activities? Which was cancelled by Trump 2 or 3 years later? Without bombs, killing people, destroying the global economy?

^^ This. Everything being done is by design. Behind it all - are the richest most powerful people on the planet pulling strings to gain more money and power. Not to mention a little "project" created by a conservative "think tank". The project is in place to help pull it all off with chaos and distraction. This won't end well for anyone, except the elite rich and powerful, and maybe a few bootlickers trying to be in the club (they think they are in). None of this is for America, or freedom for the American people, or making us safer, or better off. These powerful elite are controlling all of this, and they could give two fucks about any of us no matter what we think or believe.

That is my debbie downer speech for today. I'm off to listen to music.

Didn't that come out as a lie and Obama was actually funding their nuclear activity?
