VersaSTUDIO BN-20A - Printer not working

Hello,

I’m currently trying to get my printer to work and have attached a video of the machine.(PRINTER) I’ve tried everything I can think of so far, including:
  • Replacing the print head
  • Replacing the capping station
  • Installing new ink cartridges
  • Checking all ink lines to ensure they’re clear and pulling ink through with a syringe

It just seems like there's no ink getting pulled through the lines to the print head. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Seems from that video that you have air in the lines, make sure the lines are all connected and no air leaks. When you pull ink to the head, does it print?

I’m using a syringe to pull ink through the lines, but it’s been difficult to keep the lines filled with ink and then attach them to the print head afterward. I can try that process again and get back to you with the results.

What you should do is attach the syringe to the line after the cap top and pull gently. You'll probably need to pinch one close, as I believe there are 2 lines, like my VS-300i. The way you're currently doing it, isn't getting the ink into the dampers or the head.

I pulled the ink through all the lines, but nothing is printing. Is there a pump or mechanism that moves the ink to the print head?

Yes, there's a pump after the cap top that pulls the ink. If you pulled the ink with a syringe from the line after the cap top and you've gotten ink into the syringe and it's still not printing anything, you've most likely blown the head fuses on the main board.

Sounds good. There are 2 ink lines that come out of the cap top, they both go to the pump, you can disconnect one and connect the syringe, the other one you'll need to pinch off. I use a small clamp. Then you can pull gently, this will bring ink through the damper and through the head if not clogged. The way you were doing it before wasn't getting the ink into the dampers and therefore, not into the head.

Just be sure to pull very gently, as too much negative pressure can fracture the printhead internally. Keep in mind, you are going to pull ink through all the lines and fill the dampers, then fill the print head before you are finished. So it's going to take a few syringe pulls... If there is a way to do an ink fill or power cleans from the software, it's something to consider., less stress on the printhead.

I would ask, what was the original issue?
