Vinyl application issues

I have two seperate jobs that I have a vinyl application issue.

The first one is a plastic coated up and over garage doors & the second is a glassfibre panelled trailer.
I have since found out that the glassfibre panelled trailer was cleaned using WD40. I also suspect the up and over garage doors to be cleaned using WD40 also, as the owner is not being to convincing with how it was cleaned.
On both of these they were thouroughly cleaned by ourselves before application. Also the up and over garage doors had had a digitally printed graphic apllied by us a few years earlier with no signs of any issues.
The glassfibre panelled trailer has a band of bubbling where the original graphics used to be prior to removal of adhesive with said WD40.

Could this be the reason for poor application on both these jobs?

Thanks

Could be, could be wax, could be anything. Sounds like a problem customer if they're using stuff like WD40 to "clean" things.

I never heard of cleaning with WD40, sounds redneck to me - I suspect that is the problem! (unless someone else chimes in)

This doesn't help you now but I have a sticker I put on all cash and carry graphics that have directions on them and I always remind people to use Isopropyl alcohol. On printed graphics I put a sticker that says "NO NOT WET APPLY".

WD-40 is a good cleaner for certain surfaces. However, I don't think it's meant to have adhesive backed vinyl go on it afterwards unless you clean that off first.
