Wall Vinyl recommendation

We have run into 3 jobs where we tested the paint with test strips & then 2 months later starts peeling off. I assume it is the washable/scrubbable paint but we have used full panels no problems, it is just when installing cut letters & logos. The edges peel off & we have tried several methods to fix (ie: edge glue, tape, etc). We first used Nekoosa Wall Graphic Matte 54” x 6mil High-Peel Removable then moved to 3M IJ35C Scotchcal with Comply, nothing has worked. It's obviously a fault with our testing & the vinyl we are using. Looking for suggestions on better testing methods & product?

Thanks

I use Arlon SLX for most of my interior stuff like this. Biggest thing is prepping the wall. 50-50 iso + water, wipe down and dry the wall 3 times. The paint should look a hair different when you're done cleaning it, like discolored. It will pretty quickly return to the original finish.
Or, go with a substance material, they have a higher tack and it doesn't seem to shrink/lift nearly as much as ij35c. Pm2755 is a cheap high quality product:
Give them a shout, they'll send a sample roll your way. It's made in USA, for what it's worth these days...

high tension on your laminate feed could also cause this sort of curling, but ij35 doesn't contour that pebbly texture so the perimeter of your letters will be barely holding-onto the highpoints of the surface finish.

+1 to suggested arlon slx.
personally, i use use grimco's briteline wrapcast for our print&cut lettering wall application

I always use oracal 651 on wall lettering like that and never had a problem. No laminate and yes it is not printable vinyl but UV, eco solvent and Latex prints great on it. Never had a problem with printing on it

Appreciate the reply...We did do the wall prep, has to be the product we were using, the 3M IJ35 was recommended by Grimco

What type of printer are you using? If it is solvent, are you giving it time to cure before cutting flush to the image? If you are printing (then laminating) and then immediately cutting it, this is likely the problem. It is also true of latex a bit but not as much. Giving the vinyl and ink time to cure will usually help dramatically.

It appears the product is lifting on all sides...if it was just the top and bottom of the prints then I'd point a finger at the lamination tension...but if it is failing all over, then it likely isn't that.

Thanks Mark...Epson S80 Ecosol & product was not laminated. We do let cure overnight before cutting the next day, may try leaving it even longer

We: 1. Use a low surface energy (LSE) vinyl. 2. Prep the wall with a swiffer and mild alcohol rub. 3. Use a light tac application mask over properly cured and laminated print graphics (no lam on cut pigmented vinyl). 4. Heat and buffer squeegee application to the wall. 5. Slowly remove mask pulling back over itself, usually at an angle downward. And 6. Reheat application and use a heat resistant roller on it, especially edges. It was a lot easier 48 years ago... peel it and stick it, just don't lick it!
