What's Best method to make a 22" diameter round column from 1/16 thick polycarbonate?

Here is what I am making.

for the photos I've just got the 1/16" thick polycarbonate taped in the back.

I was thinking of using WELDON#3 to lap joint the back seam. I would give it about a 1" overlap.

It would be amazing if I could somehow NOT have a seam, but I have no idea how one would do that.
the circumferance is 69.5"
I was thinking of making my own Aluminum clamp to go over the lenght of the seam.

Anyone got any better ideas?

I would bet those are heat rolled. As for a seam can you use a 1" wide strip on the inside and attach the ends to that. From the outside they would look loike a butt joint.

+1 for this method.
Also, I cant remember the name but isn't there a product that would fill the seam? It bonds AND builds? think its in the weld-on family or e9000 but specific for polycarb?

Or rivet?

Well I made it and I deffinetely did not heat roll it, though I was wondering if there was a way to heat it and basically "set" the curve. maybe put a hot air blower inside for 5 to 10 minutes and cap it off just enough to soften it , but not distort it?

I like the butt joint idea. maybe i'll put a piece of clear polycarbonate as the base strip and that way it will be uniform.

thanks for idea. l

Why not use a Solid Surface product like Corian in 1/4". Heat and form it, then seam it or fuse it with solidsurface glue. It would be seamless

because solid surface plastic is $30 a sq ft and 1/16th white poly carb is $2/sq ft. It also needs to be portable and durable, and not crack like solid surface would.
