Got it fixed. Just needed to remove screws s7 and s9, and the whole assembly comes off. Definitely a lot of dried ink and fibers on the spring, I'm not surprised it catches a lot of debris.

I've used Effects>Stylize>Round Corners when I've got artwork with sharp corners that aren't going to cut cleanly. But it doesn't recognize really sharp corners like in the screenshot. Is there a way to get the effect to work with bends like this as well, or does it just need to be fixed manually?

OK - so how removable is it after five years? Can you post a video of that? :-) It is a big plus to tell a customer material can be removing without taking off the top layer of paint/drywall at the same time.
