  1. Does this sound like a bearing issue?

thanks, I'll check that out! Thanks! Do you know why it would sound that way in just one direction?
  2. Does this sound like a bearing issue?

My Roland is make a slight grinding sound as the head moves to the left ( no grinding sound as it moves to the right ). Here's a link to the sound file, has anyone else heard this and is it a concern? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1446796/Roland.wav
  3. Versaworks slow with big designs - partly because of preview?

I was working on a big wall mural and Versaworks slows to a crawl. I had zoomed out and decided to add some job info to the print, and it looked like Versworks was attempting to update the entire preview, as occasionally I'd see a pixel change where the job info would be printed. Is Versaworks...
  4. cutter isn't lifting back after sheet cut

Got it fixed. Just needed to remove screws s7 and s9, and the whole assembly comes off. Definitely a lot of dried ink and fibers on the spring, I'm not surprised it catches a lot of debris.
  5. cutter isn't lifting back after sheet cut

Thanks for the help! Actually both answers were correct. I put a few drops of oil in there, and wokred it back and forth by hand a bit, then saw a wad of fibers and ink that was gumming the mechanism up. I gently pulled that out with tweezers. So that's gone, but now I can see the end of the...
  6. cutter isn't lifting back after sheet cut

I have a soljet pro III. After a sheet cut, the cut mechanism doesnt seem to be lifting up correctly. The next time I do a setup, the cut wheel slams into the sponge holder and I get a motor error. There's a metal tab above and left of the wheel that I need to pull out to get the wheel/cutter to...
  7. Rounding corners for cut vinyl

Yep, same guy, same script, different webpage :-)
  8. Rounding corners for cut vinyl

Thanks! Thanks, everyone! I'll give these suggestions a try. In the meantime, I did some searching around and found some scripts that will do a good bit automatically. Looks pretty good so far. Check out the "round corners" script at http://shspage.com/aijs/en/#usage1
  9. Rounding corners for cut vinyl

I've used Effects>Stylize>Round Corners when I've got artwork with sharp corners that aren't going to cut cleanly. But it doesn't recognize really sharp corners like in the screenshot. Is there a way to get the effect to work with bends like this as well, or does it just need to be fixed manually?
  10. White spots appearing in Avery backlit material

Like I said, spots appeared over the course of several weeks, they weren't visible when applied. So I'm not sure about it being a handing issue, since I would expect that to show up right away. Printed & unlaminated Avery 2050 can be wiped down with a damp cloth with zero issues, so for...
  11. White spots appearing in Avery backlit material

I should clarify - these went on fine, no spotting. Over time, white spots started to appear, as you can see in the lower right
  12. White spots appearing in Avery backlit material

An installer applied some Avery MPI 2050 backlit prints to panels and the customer is seeing white spots starting to show through, especially noticable where the black print is. Any ideas what could be happening here? You can see some spots on the bottom right of the sign and some starting in...
  13. elevator handrail graphics

I've seen some of the elevator handrail graphic advertising, which I thought seems pretty cool. If you've applied these sorts of graphics, what equipment did you use? It appears like some specialized equipment is needed, based on what I found searching around, at least if you want to do it...
  14. Mactac B-free versus ??

I've used a little of the Mactac and liked it - seems easy to install w/ the air egress. However, as I've seen some people note, the air channels can be crushed during install and that's definitely visible with the clear material. Is there a wet install alternative ( for less than expert...
  15. Golf course signage

Thanks for the responses The link to 4ever systems looks like what I'm searching for, thanks! I've been through the rush delivery corex on wire stake stuff, I agree that sucks and I usually regret taking a job like that in about 15 minutes ( after the first B & W fax comes in of a color logo...
  16. Golf course signage

Any ideas on what source is being used for the posts and how these are mounted in their "winged backdrop"? Seems like a cool idea.. http://www.golftournamentinabox.com/product/tour-package
  17. versaworks / crop marks with trim marks

Thanks - wasn't that! Everything was fine except one small set of decals had the trim marks enabled, and that evidently shifts the origin or starting point for the plotter so everything in the whole batch is ruined. Remove the trim marks, reprint, and it cuts fine. Just super irritating and I...
  18. versaworks / crop marks with trim marks

I was doing a bunch of different cut decals, and I didn't notice one group had trim marks enabled in the print job. That basically throws everything out of alignment. I'm assuming that whenever this happens, you basically need remove the trim marks and reprint, but I was curious if there is...
  19. what are you using for interior wall vinyl?

OK - so how removable is it after five years? Can you post a video of that? :-) It is a big plus to tell a customer material can be removing without taking off the top layer of paint/drywall at the same time.
  20. PMS 427 C not found

I'm not seeing PMS 427 C in the Versaworks spot color selection - am I overlooking it? And is there a faster way to search than scroll through the list of 1000s of PMS colors? Seems kind of silly it can't be sorted.
