We direct print to Avery V4000 all the time. Eco-Solvent. That is what I would use for a good result.

90% of my business is wholesale to the trade. Totally different then retail. Been doing this 33 years. Short run banners under 25 sq. ft each are $1.25 per sq./ft finished with a min order of $25.00 per version, over 25 sq ft. are $1.15 per sq./ft. All in cost with labor, ink and material we are...
Buy your prints from someone else. You might be better off in the long run with your low usage. Supply them files and do what you love restoring the pinball machines. Kudos as well for this, always loved a good pinball game!
My largest large format roll job was 26 - 54"x 164' rolls of vinyl + laminate decals for one job. On the flatbed have run several pallets of material for larger jobs.
Run it to the PMS/CMYK Values, Run a small printed proof for approval, that's all you can do. If the want actual PMS SPOT Matches, they need it printed that way at a much higher price.
Good Luck
Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their participation on this group to help others. What a great group! I wish everyone of my fellow sign & printing peeps a very Happy and prosperous New Year! Enjoy this evening and be safe.

Switch to CAST and your problem will probably be solved. Calendared vinyl does not have the same quality/structure and will shrink heavily sometimes. Could also be a chemical reaction from the PVC to the adhesive as well, depending on what kind or brand of PVC your using. We do not print, mount...
When we apply adhesive Velcro around the perimeter of any banner we fold and sew them first. If the Velcro needs sewn in we send it out to a finishing house. You could always have someone sew the Velcro on. The banner will fall apart before the Velcro comes off. :-)
Oh I get it. Could you just cut down an heavy adhesive like mactac Rebel-H vinyl and try it? Do you fold over the edge 1st and finish, that might help? just spit balling.
We use mactac 2 mil calendared promoguard (we are a partner with them) for cheap protection (real estate signs mainly, pvc and maxmetal) Then if going to be long term we use CAST Arlon (we are also a partner with these guys as well). If you are applying with a laminator or rolls table, shouldn't...
